Hi guys, I just started learning how to detail my ride and this is my 1st post, please let me know if I had posted in the wrong section, if so let me know and I will move it over.

So my first ever question to the forum is, how do you fix scratches on the exterior silver plastic trim that are located at the base of side window? I suppose one cannot polish it as the trim will be stained?

And how to remove stain on the trim?

    Thanks in advance!

A picture would help a lot with this question. Is the plastic painted or bare plastic?

Don't need to see the scratch just need to see what it was on.

Thanks Todd. I've been trying for the past few days to capture the scratch but no luck. But please take a look at the following pictures I took of the trim and the scratch:

This is the trim the scratch is on

This is the scratch, picture was taken at night because I couldn't catch the scratch during day time.

    Thanks for your help!

I would try to buff it out if you have buffer? If not you can try to buff out by hand but might take awhile.
    Is it plastic or metal?
