So neither Phil or Ken boxes of goodies arrived so courtesy of my off the shelf products! Dont cry guys, ITS GONNA BE ALRIGHT!

Courtesy of my iPhone 4 which has layers of wax from my fingers now and my nike cotton pants n shirt which also has wax on em. Props to my Mazda 5 and my Garage wall for back support.

(Sorry about the blurriness, dont have tripod, dont have my DSLR (its across the ocean), and I didnt want to find my sister's digital cam)

Seems like the dealership waxed it already but who cares

2 dollars each from daiso, the japs thought they had it but no they were terrible to use.

bucket + turtle wax tire n wheel cleaner + 2 dollar scrubs + quiksilver sandals from the outlet = disappointing rim cleaning so gave up

    as seen here...

    and here...

and into the garage of smallness to continue working on it

Mother's California thingy emptied, onto AG Rapid Detailer (actually the mother's smelled better)

Might trim it a bit sometime, they must of been day dreaming when trimming that piece

AG HD Wax, the only good thing I got atm

So I decided to test my masking tape skills before I get the actual polisher

yea its like the side windows at the disco with neon stripe

It seemed to have cracked in the middle for some reason tho u dont see it here

    Swirling disco

well 1st layer done and car locked up and i see ghosting of the headlights

somehow this one is better than the last

So yeah, that sums up the first initial write up before I get the goods prob after thanksgiving.

You need to resize photos...way too big to see. Detail looks good though, was customer happy?

sorry bout the large images, had iphoto output em :S batch resizing and re-uploading now. No customer anyhow, its my new car =p I did get complaints that the new car didnt need to get washed or waxed but dealership aint as thorough as oneself

Edit: Resized all images to more friendly resolution, knew iphoto lied to me! but yes, Episode 2 prob next weekend and this time I bought myself a 1000watt work lamp for my crowded garage

nice to see a local up on here! haha how do you like the daiso brush?

the bristle one is ok for scrubbing tire wall but its still small, the other spongy one is ultimately terrible, the handle bends when you try and scrub inside, better off spending more on more durable products than these

Which area is that? looks like Richmond
I got the Daiso $2 spongy brush too, too short but you can bent it.

yep Richmond, its like town house haven here these days, but yea the spongy brush bends when you apply pressure so its really hard to clean with it especially when after every spoke you gotta straighten it again

Nice, but you are using too much wax. Thin is in.

I still need to hone my waxing skills, i've only used paste wax 3 times including the 2 coats i put on the GLK lol
how do i know that theres still wax on the applicator when i apply? i always worry that I'm not putting anything on :S

Try putting some halogens on the paint and view at different angles.

Its wasteful, and it just ends up being more work buffing it off. Getting better lighting or doing it outside definitely helps to see if there is still wax.

Every wax is a bit different, but I find once the wax saturates the pad enough, then you only need one dab per panel. Sometimes spritzing the pad with some qd helps with the start.

Car definitely looks good! Isn't shipping to Canada from DD nuts?

Yeah, I bought a 500watt x2 halogen work light for my next indoor waxing adventure, garage lights are bad and it was night time .

DD shipping is not that bad if u pay for the cheapest one, its averages at around 30 bucks per order by USPS Standard or whichever it is, but with Phil's occasional sales, its kinda levied off, and some stuff you cant get else where like those mercury bottles although Ken is thinking of getting em in soon! Sometimes I can evade getting taxed too by ordering from US =p All in all, both Ken and Phil are creating a black hole in my wallet

you dont need to tape your car to wax it. It will save you a lot of time if you dont tape it up and you just be careful jamming your applicator between panels trim and cracks. Thick layer = harder to remove|Thin layer = waxing bliss.

Resize pictures look so great. I really like your engine bay shot with AG VRC, good product! The outside garage photos look deep!

How do you like the red pads that came with the HD wax? I'm not a big fan of it myself....

theyre not the most ergonomic pads there are but I think they do the job quite well when u only use 1 end of it
