Which one would you choose? Looking for a Low Sheen finish and protection for a engine detail on Monday. I only have acess to these two or any other available Otc... AG Vinyl & Rubber Care or Vinylex by Lexol
AG. After rinsing the motor, spray it down with the AG VRC and let the motor run for about ten minutes. The dressing will dry to a nice sheen.
Thanks everyone....I will be detailing a 650Hp R32 tomorrow and wanted to get it right. 911Fanatic, the motor should not be too filthy and will probably just require a degreaser worked a section at a time and towel dried, then AG applied. Will it work the same if the engine bay is dry and it is applied then have the engine run? Will it created a different look? Or does it have to be wet?
Should get the same look. Its just convenient if had to shampoo the motor, you don't have to dry it first before applying. If you have one, use a trigger with adjustable tip to get a finer spray. The AG one tends to shoot a heavy spray, wasting product.
I do what Ken does but just use 303 Aerospace protectant in place of AG VRC. Both give a great look and dry nicely into the surfaces.
Compared AutoGlym Vinyl &Rubber Care with Adams Super VRT. Surface was precleaned with degreaser and let to fully dry before applying one layer of dressing. AG ended up with more shine as Adams was more matte IMO. What do you think? Note: AG V&R Care's spray bottle shoots a thick amount, might be better to spray on applicator then spread.
I've been meaning to try out Duragloss 265. I never seen anyone talk about it on here (maybe for a reason). If it works like Adam's in and out, I'd be really happy because of the price difference.
I have read good things about DG 265 on other websites and would like to see a comparison with Adams In and Out.
I prefer the look of Adams after my comparison. I can see where AG can become useful since its a liquid form, but I don't like how cheap and greasy it looks similar to this guys details...lol.
Did you buff it down? It definitely isnt a greasy shine like the last pic you posted above. Also you can dilute the product 1:1.
I did not buff it down, just spread it with a clean applicator. Did not know I could dilute it...with distilled water?
Its not advertised as dilutable but it can be with regular water, its a dressing and not a qd so purity doesnt matter. The professional version is a concentrated version hence its ability to be diluted and it being water baased. Also on the back are basic instructions for both high sheen and low sheen. For high apply liberally and allow to soak a few mins before lightly going over with a towel. For low sheen, apply sparingly and remove with a cloth right away.
