So, I live in an apartment with a car wash center but the water pressure sucks so I wanted to get a electric pressure washer so i went out to look at some and the plugs are all large as they have built in ground fault interrupter. Well the outlet in the car wash has a cover around it to protect against water and those large plugs will not fit. Anyone know of a decent pressure washer that does not have a huge plug that will not draw too large of a current. Pic of outlet shroud below:

or you can get an extension thats used for outdoors and it'll work for sure. just make sure it'll do the watts.

Just read bad stories of extension cord and pressure washers but it is a thought of getting a 1ft cord.

Best bet ankeet is to run a heavy duty cord. I personally have not seen those electric pressure washers with small plugs

But the PW and change the head on it, might void warranty but only other option is cord

wrap duct tape and lots of it around the connection between pw and heavy duty cord then it should be ok
i think its more of keeping water out more than anything and have a cord that supports the watt

I have the AR 383 and 610 handheld. Great pressure washers! NEVER let me down like Karschers of similar price range. Both have pretty huge plugs though, not sure they will squeeze into that outlet.I do have the same outlet cover on the back of my house I will try to plug into it and get back to you in tomorrow

Thanks but slim chance it will fit, really needs to have a "remote" brick if i does have not. Looks like short extension cord and some silicone sealant will be the solution.

Just tried to get plug to fit outlet. Definately does not fit. Honestly i wouldnt even worry about the silicone. Just get a short high gauge cord. Unlesss you aim the powerwasher right into the socket you will never short it out.I build high end swimming pools for a living and cords and water are always mixing. LOL

haha thanks, also i guess if water did get in contact the ground fault would trip.

Looks like what I know to ask for xmas haha. Now to pick which one to get.

The 383 is a great powerwasher but it is a little bulky and clumsy. A hand held would be the better option in your apartment. I cant speak for the model you are looking at but the brand is underrated.I LOVE the blue clean.I have had Karcher electric and Cambell Hausfield gas units in the past. No comparison to the blue clean. BTW I have no idea the types of pumps or anything on the mechanicals and how they tic.Just know they work and have worked everytime for several years and MANY uses.

I ONLY plug my pressure washer into extension cord. Because PW plug is so big, it saves outlet space to always use extension cord.
