Everyone here seems to really like P21s Total Auto Wash, for the most part, as a degreaser in general. Focusing more closely on the paint and excluding P21s, could someone make a product suggestion for an effective degreaser for the paint (as a prestep before the wash). Is using Zeps diluted safe?
Zeps diluted is fine, just dont let it sit to long, I use that sometimes, its cuts good, theres some good ratios on here somewhere, But for the most part I use p21s
What's the dilution for zep on paint that doesn't quite strip lsp? I have some ugly tar and such on lower panels, but I always worry zep will strip my LSP...
I have used Megs APC+ and Optimum Power Clean and they both worked very well on lower panels. I would never use them on anything above the trim line though, CG Citrus wash has a great reputation and can strip LSP safely if that may interest you.
I have been using Tropicare (Showroom FX) citrus degreaser and have been extremely impressed by it. I use it to strip LSP, 1 oz citrus with 1 oz CG Wash and Clear comes out of my foam cannon thicker than shaving cream and iv had great success with it. Clings great and smells great too.
I use Optimum Power clean. 4:1 dilution. With some Meg's gold class or optimum shampoo mixed in to give it a little thickness. I just use it in a regular spray bottle.
I pretty much do exactly what Pektel here does. P21S TAW is ridiculously overpriced for the ingredients that are in it. I found that trim cleaners(when striping paint) like Megs APC and OPT OPC dont stain trim but I noticed some really goofy crap happen with TAW, so I ditched my last batch after that.
