This was a car I that was getting a simple wash and wax. But this was one of my friend's old car with a new owner. Unfortunately the car was not maintained and looked pink! After seeing the car in its prime to where it ended up, I decided to throw in machine work as a favor to my friend= the new owner scored! This took way longer than I had expected...6 hours! and i wasn't even able to completely finish the car. With milano red, this is a tinted clear. I knew "correcting" the paint would be out of the question since the paint has already seen failure. I decided to just try to use a glaze and see how the paint would respond. And to my surprise it reacted really well to the revive glaze. It was like applying lotion to extremely dry skin. The more times i went over the paint with the glaze, a little bit more of the paint was brought back to life with each pass. With the paint in such bad shape, using a rotary was probably out of the question so I opted to use a more friendly PC at speeds 3-5. I also decided to use a less aggressive green pad. However, the areas that showed more "life" to them, I used 106. The hood was a prime example. It showed a big difference corrected and uncorrected. I was even able to get pretty clear reflections out of the hood after i was done. The pics that show the hood in progress were simply amazing. It was hard to believe that it looked the way it did. I didn't think this car's paint would have much hope. There are shots of the hood being corrected in progress with half and half shots and the completed shot. Although the completed shot has no LSP and is just after removing 106. There are photos in the afters that show the hood with a layer of LSP. The reflections really surprised me.
hardly any! this car was a total mess... although i did stop every so often to document the transformation, but it really was a work in progress.
posted! may have left out some steps though this was actually the 2nd owner after my friend had owned the car. it was sold then that owner sold it to someone else. more like 5.5 hrs. i left a lot unfinished because the customer had a time frame when he needed the car. i was only left with just under an hr for LSP. Thanks! i went through 3.5 pads! the tinted clear was absolute hell on my pads. .5 being that i had to reuse my pads! had to wash the pads after using them and let them dry only to keep reusing them on the car
Alas this use to be my car; which I babied when I owned it. I guess that's what 2 years of neglect does BEFORE PICS FROM 2 Years ago.
What an Arsehole...he curbed my wheels >_<............... They were pretty much new when I put them on
