Just got my 35mm f/1.8 lens, and decided that it's so great, I won't even take it off the camera. Got myself a tripod too, so the indoor pix are AWESOME. Then I wished I had a wireless remote. This car was also probably the best Jet black car that's ever come to me. I was aiming for 95%, and it was pretty easily achieved. STUFF Wash&dry Tropi care citrus wash - this stuff smells terrible to me Uber DD sponge Swssivax detail brush Two buckets with grit guard waffle weave drying towels Majestic solutions super green stuff - on all trim and exhaust tips Clay ONR clay lube Zymol clay bar Waffle weave drying towel isopropyl alcohol afterwards Engine bay Meguiar's super degreaser - bad ass stuff Swissvax wheel brush Costco MF towels Swissvax Pneu Exhaust 0000 Steel wool P21S polishing soap Meguiar's super degreaser Wheels, wheel wells and tires Meguiar's super degreaser - tires and wheel wells P21S wheel gel Swissvax wheel brush DD spoke brush Vroom drying towel M205 hand polished Duragloss 601+105 to seal Gloss-it tire shine Paint correction Gloss-it backing plates 3" and 5" Makita 9227c Uber yellow 5.5" pad + Meguiar's M105 - spot polishing on random deep scratches Uber green 5.5" and 4" + Menzerna PO203S Uber blue 5.5" and 4" + Menzerna PO85RD Distilled water to wipe down polish ONR wash after paint correction Sealant and wax Duragloss 601 + 105 Zymol Vintage PIX yeah, these are all a tad underexposed Super degreaser pulls dirt off tires like crazy Even makes some nasty run off! Magical towel of headlight clearing So nasty SO AWESOME :worship2: So much terrible So much haven't wiped off polish completely yet swirly whirly magical towel strikes again Fenders...... FENDERS! That's polish that didn't come off very well with the caked towel. Even tail lights got some PO203S and PO85RD Signs of progress, a mirror so clear that you could see... well yourself in it. Pre LSP. Is it ready for the outside world? Yeah I think it is. Got this bad boy cleaned too. TO THE OUTSIDE Yeah I'm pretty happy with the lens. I should gotten away from f/1.8, but it was more fun. C&C always welcome.
Ben...the car came out fabulous..maybe I missed it...how many hours? Your lens is awesome too; those shots are amazing. I have been using 601/111 combo on mine lately and I find the finish is wetter looking than with 105. Once my 105 runs out, I'll be getting a gallon of the 111. You may wish to try some. Once again, the M looks great.:applause2:
Looks great man! Could you possibly use a white pad with the 203S instead of green? When I detailed my jet black with SSRs, it would leave slight marring when I would wipe the polish off. Did the spray of distilled water help with this? Thanks, Mike
What the hell!!!!!!! Where do I get Magic Towels!!!????!!!!??!! I always say that how cars that are normally just kind of blah can actually atract your eye just because how good the paint looks! Then a like like this - I LOVE the M3!!!! - comes along in the right color and looking flawless. Good, solid results!!! Nice job!!!!!:applause: Andy
