Dying the trim?

I'm tired of seeing crappy looking trim, stuff that is really faded. I kinda want to get into dying some of the real, real crappy pieces, pieces that you put 303 or any other dressing on and it laughs at you and goes back to whitish gray. I'm looking into WOW, but it kinda sucks knowing it will eventually come back.

So my questions are, get dye or Black WOW, and what is the best dye if dying works better?

I'm looking for kinda vinyl instead of rubber trim dye, something that helps with these:

I had one that was a black bottle with a yellow label. I don't see it on autogeek anymore but definitely do your research because mine didn't set in evenly as I wanted it to.

If you're trying to make that black, I'd check out Shadowline, popular product on E46's, and pretty cheap. I'm unsure of the durability of the product, but I'm sure someone on here has some experience with it. I'm not sure how it'd work on that piece but it works great making chrome trim black :p. I use Optibond Tire Gel on trim - says it works on trim and looks great IMO.

IF you apply black wow properly it will revive this. Apply it pretty heavy leave it overnight and do the same in the morning. It will bring right back to life. Pretty impressive stuff. Try using a blow drier to warm the material up a bit as well.

Black WOW should revive that with no problem

Thanks that's what I wanted to hear, now that I think about it it would be pretty hard to get the dye coated evenly.

    I'll try the Black WOW.

Nothing I've used works as well as plastic dye. I've got a can of black plastic and vinyl dye from Malco, and it's the bomb. Dries very quickly, lays down evenly, it's totally easy to use.

The big pain in the butt is that it's in an aerosol can. So, you either have to carefully mask surrounding areas to prevent overspray, or you have to take the item off the vehicle.

A note for when using Black Wow. Make sure the you clean the plastic well with APC first. You'll get more even coverage.
