My old boss wants me to do some work removing swirls off of his 2008(+) F150. It is two tone, black and tan. He is eventually going to repaint the bottom tan panels to black. The top of the bedliner, the trim on the top of the bed fenders, is tan. I'm wondering if I have the proper materials to dye it black. I have this product by the Urethane Supply Company called Bumper and Trim Black. It says permanently dyes black plastic, yada yada. The thing I'm worried about is that it says it dyes black plastic, NOT plastic black.

I think it'll still work, but I'm waiting to hear some ideas.

I think the plastics are going to have to be painted.

The product you have is a dye, and won't be as permanent I think. Plus the paint will stand up better to the elements.

What sort of paint would you suggest? I was thinking of a spray on bedliner.
