Well its that time to restock my wash stuff/supplies. I am looking at either the Duragloss or Optimum. I've used both and really like both just not sure which one to get this time. I get it in the gallons as I wash 6-7 cars a week, sometimes more/repeats. Anyone really like one over the other? Yeah not a "good" thread, but I keep switching stuff in my shopping cart so I need some help to finalize, lol. Thinking Duragloss this time as I've been using Optimum and will be ordering Aquawax in the gallon also.

Call Mark-V products and order a gallon of Very Cherry car shampoo. Lots of suds with that stuff, and is a nice wash.

I haven't used the Optimum, but hear good things about it. I do have and use the DG though and think it is a great product, like the rest of their line. For conventional washes, DG and PB SS&S are my favs.

Used Optimum in my foam cannon for the first time the other day and really liked it a lot.

How about a third, more unusual option?

    Majestic Solutions Ultra Gloss

Me and JL both love this stuff. As much suds as you could ask for, super slippery, leaves a nice slick finish. JL tells me it works in his foam cannon as well.

This stuff is the shizz! One of the best if not the best maint. soap I've used! Think Dodo Born to be Mild on steroids!

Thanks, I may call them later and see what prices they have.

Wow thanks that stuff looks nice and very well priced, just have to check shipping.

    Thanks for the info!

So Im guessing its comparable to Optimum? Is it to sudsy? As I don't use a foam cannon or foam gun. I love the slickness of Duragloss and Optimum.

Have either of you tried any of their other products? Seems like they have some nice stuff.

Oh it is very comparable to Optimum in slickness and cleaning ability but leaves a much better shine afterwards. Contains a truckload of polymers as compared to most soaps. As far as their other products yes I've used a bunch of them. There Wash n Wax soap is very good just not as good as Ultra Gloss. Their Super Green Stuff is the best APC I have used bar none. I have recently found out that I can mix it up 2:1 like I always do for engines, tires, wells, lower panels etc. and add about 2.5 ounces of CGs Citrus Wash n Gloss to it and it is a fantastic wheel cleaner. Their Enviro Shield protectant is a very neat and unique product and I have a review of that coming. It yielded some very very very impressive results as a protective coating for wheels!! Just stay away from thier waxes and sealants and you will be golden as these are merely average products, but their cleaners and dressings are awesome.

I couldn't tell you on Optimum. I like Ultra Gloss so much, that I haven't bothered trying any other soaps since I started using it.

It's very sudsy, and the suds stay with it for a long time. If you add the water under presure from a foot or so away from the bucket, you'll have the bucket full of suds well before it's full of water.

Other Majestic stuff I use regularly and think is great:
    - Leather and Plastic Cleaner
    - Super Green Stuff - EXCELLENT all purpose cleaner, better than Meg's IMO
    - Bug Off - bug removal stuff
    - Lemonator carpet cleaner
    - Super Duty upholstery cleaner
    - Some of their towels are good too, particularly their window towels

They make most of their stuff on-site, so it's very cost effective. Add to it that they're only a short distance from me, and I end up using their stuff quite a lot.

I have both, and like both alot, but I'd give the slight edge to optimum over duragloss in both foaming and lubricity. They both seem to clean equally well, and I would say if used in the right dilution for maintenance washes, they don't seem to strip much LSP.

    who's Mark V?

Edit: Oh nevermind Mark-V is a commercial brand I see. It's like Ardex for me at the detail shop I work at.

Hmm....looks like I'll try this out after I finish using my APC that I recently got from my local Detail Distributor. :thumb:

You really can't go wrong with either one! I love Optimum Shampoo, which has more foam in a bucket then ANY other shampoo I ever used! Works well in a foam gun too. DG Shampoo is also very nice, a little less foam, but more cleaning power.

Thanks for the mini review. The only I would like to add Is opt is five bucks more a gallon. I still can't make up my mind. I'm going to have to try both. Buy the small bottles first before buying the gallon sizes. I thought I would have a winner by now.

I have not used Optimum. There are so many well liked soaps. My next one is PB's SS&S.

For DG, many use less than the rated dilution so if cost is an issue DG may be the better value. I have seen complaints about the cherry cough syrup smell of DG but it is fine to me. DG had free shipping at the DG web site so that may be a factor if you buy gallons.

I live in Raliegh too but I have not been there. As for making most stuff on site, I think I would ask for a plant tour...They may buy it in bulk (55 gallons) and bottle locally but I suspect they do not actual blend products on site. If they do, I would like a tour....it would be fun.

Do they give out samples? I would think it a waste to spend $$ to get a gallon of something you do not like.
