Its been a while since I've been out and about on detailing forums - finishing up a PhD takes pretty much all the time you have away from you!! Thought folk might like to see a few pics from a recent trip to France where I went with my better half and a couple of friends - much needed rest and relaxation :D

Just recently back from my first proper holiday in three years - driving holiday to the Dordogne region of the south of France, so I thought I'd share some pics :) Would put in photo section, but its not really professional pictures stylee, just some fun pics :) Went with Sophie, my better half, and a couple of friends from St Andrews - 4 up plus luggage in the S60 was a tight squeeze!!

Took two full day's driving to get there from sunny Scotland - London on day one, and then to France on day to and 600+ miles of driving down the autoroutes to near Agen (Bordeaux and down a wee bit more!) where we were staying... poor Volvo looked a bit fly splatted after that:

But the views were stunning from where we were staying - beautiful countryside!

Spent first couple of days chilling after the drive, taking some random pics from around where we were staying...

I loved the driving roads... narrow, yes, but cracking views and open with nothing but a bloody big ditch either side should you run out of talent....

Found a really pleasant dessert wine at this chateau (Monbazillac) - if sweet dessert wines are your thing, its well worth a taste, we brought a couple of cases home :D

Lots of little towns near by to visit... Eymet was one (token car shot :p)

    Nice food :)

Parc en Ciel - Park in the sky... essentially running around trees on rope bridges and zip wires etc, looks a lot of fun, I admit that as someone who is scared of heights, I didn't go on, but Sophie enjoyed it!...

    And finally, Bergerac...

It was a fantastic holiday - very nice to get away, relax, and take a step back from a lot of things, and put a lot of things (and their relative importance or lack thereof...) into perspective: I need to go on holiday more often! :) Cracking part of the world too, I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxed holiday in beautiful countryside :)

Fantastic shots Dave, thanks for posting.

I was supposed to be in Paris and Cannes in a few weeks, but alas, I broke my foot and had to cancel my trip. Jealousy strikes when I see these pics!
