After upgrading my washing technique by reading this site and others I have been really happy with how my car looks after each wash. However, I am never happy when I open the doors as the door jams and sills never look as good as the rest of the paint. My current thought process is that I should try adding items 2 and 3 below to my wash routine. 1. Wash wheels 2. Wash the really greasy door jams with an all purpose cleaner 3. Wash the rest of the door including the sill with ONR and microfiber towel 4. Wash car normally 5. Dry car including inside doors Does anyone have any other recommendations or tips? Are there any tools that you use for this task that are practical for car-enthusiast.
For our cars, I wash and rinse the jambs every couple of months, but just wipe down after weekly washes. I wash and clay them, then apply Klasse AIO topped with 845.
I just did mine recently, washed as I washed the rest of the car. cleaned greasy areas with a little bit of APC. then dried after drying the car. coated with some adams machine super sealant and then one layer of collinite 845 as I did the whole car....they look just as clean as the outside! just dont step on the as you get in and out hahaha
I will give the ONR a try. Are you applying the machine super sealant by hand? Which applicator do you use?
you can do it by hand, or with a machine, a basic applicator pad will work....... some elbow grease and patience.
