my question is what does everyone use for this part of the car. Im looking for something that will really bring color back to these faded rubber parts and keep them looking good. Recently Phil used a product on an audi but im looking for alternative ones. any suggestions are greatly appreciated. heres a pic in case my description of the part and product is vague:

****sry for using your picture Phil, let me know if you want me to take it down****

that would be the one and only 1Z Einsett Gummi-PFlege stick. best way to go in my opinion. do yourself a favor and pick up a couple. you wont be sorry.

I use Vinylex. When my 1Z Gummi-Fledge goes empty, I'll try and fill the applicator with Vinylex.

I would have to agree that 1Z Gummi Pflege is the best way to go. I use it on my weatherstriping not only on my car but my garage, windows etc. Not only does it clean and protect but it softens and blackens to like new.

1z is great I just dont like the applicator as sometimes when you press it against the seal it does not come out. You can use vinylex, or really any trim dressing that is not greasy or sticky once it dries.

I was hoping to pick up a few of them too, but they have been 'out of stock' at detailersdomain and autogeek for a while. :(

Doesn't gummi pfledge have glycerin to restore flexibility in the seals as well?

I believe it may be a superior product for this reason.

Also might want to look in to shin-etsu grease.

1Z Gummi is the only way to go, usless you are willing to cash out $40 on SV rubber seal.

I've been using 1z Gummi for a while now and I like it, but I have noticed that sometimes it leaves behind a milky white residue if I apply it too thick. Recently tried Gloss-It TRV and it is really nice also.

One option is to just throughly clean it with 303, letting it soak in, and I've heard of using chapstick that should restore some properties, never used it myself though.

1Z is the only way to go. Only thing I use on rubber seals!

Wurth also makes a product that is like the 1z stuff.

303 would probably work really well too. I've never tried it myself; I stopped buying 303 altogether. Vinylex looks about the same to me, is cheaper, and is easier to find.

That stuff rocks. I just haven't had much luck finding any.
