I ordered one today from Phil, great service as usual. It seems like a solid unit.

    Angelo, I sure will.

What I like about it is the small size and large display.

    I personaly don't have a DFT but I know it's a good unit, you'll love it.

I got two gauges, the PosiTector 6000 and 200 you can see them here http://www.detailingbliss.com/forum/f39/gauges-540.html

PosiTector = DFT so they are the same family, infact I've been trying to get my hands on a DFT but I don't need it  but I want it :wall:

Well I haven't seen a person who has not been happy with the DFT, but yes please let us know what you think of the unit we will be waiting for it :waiting2: for pictures of most of well what your thoughts are on it.

Darn Nica! Those you have look to be the shizzle...

I think I will have a 97 Porsche 993 in guards red next week, so this will arrive just in time.

Well the nice thing is that with the gauges I got I can take readings on any kind of surface that vehicles have. The PosiTector 200 is for plastic, fiberglass..ect...ect and the 6000 for metals, alluminum ect..ect..but for the price you'll enjoy the DFT.

Look forward to your detail gmblack3 :chest:

    Smith2287 Welcome to Detailing

This spring I am going to start seriously detailing and this is the one item I been pondering about buying. It is a large investment and to tell you the truth I don't even know what a good reading is. I will be waiting on your review because I would really like to pick one of these up if I can justify it.

If I remember corectly the PosiTector 200 cost about $2,200.00 Canadian and the Positector 6000 about $1,300.00. I beleave that's how much they cost, I'm rounding them up as I can't remember the exact price.

Which unit ar you interested in Smith2287? The PosiTectors or the DFT?

The DFT can be used on all metal surfaces right? Why get the PosiTector 6000 over the DFT Nica? Is it more accurate, what else?

    Nica Banned

Well it's more accurate yes but at the same time you'r not able to record readings, up load readings to a laptop with the aid of PosiSoft, I personaly like the probe to take readings. But most of all I was after accuracy and this is by far one of the best units available, there are better and more accurate but man they are not cheap at all.

Well that's just my :2cents: on the unit.

To tell you the truth I am not even sure which one I need. I really have to do more research but I def going to need one that is user friendly.

Which gauge do you recommend for the intro level?

the dft suits me well. it does everything I *need*. I would love to get a layer coating thickness gauge, but that is later down the road.

To be honest I was looking at the DFT my self but I wanted more acuracy and better features. I wanted to be able to record the readings and be able to store them. There are other features to the PosiTector's and the more I use them the more I enjoy them and they are very user friendly. The instructions are easy, but you don't need to spend alot of money to get a reasonable gauge.

But you can't go wrong with the DFT, like I said I'm still interested on getting one for my self.

hmmmmm I sense another huge group buy hahahahahaha...jk guys..

    PosiTector 200
    Positector 6000

I can get either maybe I should just stock these as well.

Man if you can stock them that would be wicked Phil, but I wouldn't get more then one of each, they are not cheap and I don't know how often you'll be able to sell them just my :2cents: You don't want to spend $10,000.00 worth on gauges just sitting on shelves collecting dust...well just my opinion :hippie:
