I am trying to eliminate any police attention for the rear of my vehicle... Right now i have a very Obvious Vanity plate and I think its gets my pulled over sometimes..... Think Having a Vanity Plates Attracts more Police attention to your vehicle? :help:
In my experience yes they do attract some of the wrong attention... on my silverado SS my plate was FASTRUK (Fast Truck), then on my my Trialblazer SS I had LS2BLZR (LS2 being the engine Blazer for trailblazer), both of which would be the first thing the cops would mention if they pulled me over for anything. Its always hard to get the benefit of the doubt when your plate references speed, horsepower, engine specifics, or gives any indication of pride relating to your vehicles performance. Wrong or right, cops tend to assume that means you were speeding, planning on speeding, or have been speeding recently.
^ Thats the exact think I have been thinking.... My plate says [98HTROD] and cops have brought it up at a stop several times. ... my renewal is due monday and i am seriously considering getting a random plate.
So far I haven't had any issues. MOTIGER. Don't think I will either. Will have to wait and see what summer brings.
Yes, I've had about 5 CA police ask me if my license plate is real. (Running a NY personalized plate which has flush lettering)
My personalized plate has never attracted bad attention from police, but has helped me out a couple of times. Its not about having a personalized plate, it's about what the plate says. Sure I'm proud of my service, but I did this more for the hopes of keeping the boys off my back Just ordered an Iraq vet plate for my Winter beater last week and should get in soon. That one is going to say "M203A2" while I'm getting the s2000's changed to "7siks2" once it needs to be renewed
Agreed. I think personalized plates just draw more attention in general. I've seen one that was "HIOFCER". How they got that passed, and why they would want that is beyond me. That's just asking for it. Funny none the less though
^^^ well yours is Law thing. they tent to be more linient with that. i think there were something in papers that ppl sold those police badges and cops bother those ppl less. reason probably they ask is becouse vanity is not real and it references real plate? my friend in NY said that its good in way that if somebody gets your plate and tries to look it up, they wont get your address or other info. only cops can or something
you should get a diff vanity plate... DONUTS or RENO911 or IHATEU that should get you some good attention from the local police. haha
Yea... I'm kinda of happy to have a "non-hot rod" truck for now... the last 2 stops in the TBSS, which was just a magnet for police attention, both ended well for me with no citations being issued, but I'm of the mindset that the plate wasn't helping my case any.
