Do I need newer polishes?

Still up in the air about getting a Flex, a griots, or keeping the old PC 3663. Economics will probably dictate at least giving a go with the old PC to see if I can get my old Jag where I want it.

One of the cheapest ways I can see to 'upgrade' my results is with the polish. I currently have all Prima - Swirl, Cut, Finish. Would any of the newer Meg's (105/205) or Mezerma or HD UNO get me better results? I'm not looking to spend money just to spend money but if the newer polishes would help me then I might invest in them but won't bother if the Swirl will do just as good. (hows that for a run-on sentence)

Got any pics of the car to show what you are up against? That would help a lot.

If economics dictates your decision, buy some new pads and give the "old" stuff a try.

You can handle all of that with the Prima polishes. Just pair them with the right pads and you'll get the results you want.

I agree get some uber 5.5 inch pads and you should be good to go.

Prima polishes are DEFINITELY able to get damage like that corrected, as M3ride stated, just make sure they are coupled with the right pads and you are set. Prima carries some of my favorite polishes, it can be just as effective and versatile as Menz P203 when used right, can be light enough to finish down LSP ready, but also aggressive enough for some serious correction. Prima is more geared for the PC anyway, use decent pressure and you should be golden.

Prima with a rotary....whole different animal, but a good one.

Ok, think I'm going to get a set of the Uber 5.5 inch pads - or should that be two sets?

I've never used Prima polishes but Uber/B&S pads are awesome. I'd say Yellow for your cutting followed by green for polishing. If you want to amp up the gloss, black with your finishing polish. As you really only need 3 colours, get 3 each of the yellow and green and 2 of the black.

Two sets! Jag paint will gum up your pads fast.

Prima Swirl and Finish are great. Swirl will do a good job cutting but also finishes nicely. I didn't have great luck with Cut

I'm surprised that you are being recommended just a couple pads. I have 5 of each color so I can switch them out after a couple panels. If you have your cleaning process down for the pads then a couple works fine but I cannot seem to get them clean enough with a brush.

How about getting some of the MF pads that are out now (OPT, CG, Megs)?

Prima Swirl with the Meg's MF cutting pad I heard works well. You could follow that with Swirl on Uber green and then Prima Finish on Blue or Black if need be. But the main thing is your initial test spot.

    A question and a comment:

Question: I'm assuming that the Jag's paint is probably relatively soft (but that's a VERY uneducated guess). Going with the least aggressive correction possible rule, where do you guys think I ought to start pad wise (use whatever pad set you are familiar with and I'll figure it out).

Comment: One of the polishes that seems to have a good rep is HD UNO, however I was turned off by the advertising on it. It's just hard to buy anything that compares itself to magic.
