So, I got a call yesterday from someone who wanted their car's interior cleaned up. They told me that just the interior needs to be cleaned up because it was getting pretty bad. Typically this is something that wouldnt have taken me more than a few (3 or so) hours to do. They did warn me that it has some dog hair in it. No big deal, but mind you... ... some... dog... hair.... (key words) Products used: Zaino Leather cleaner 1Z Cockpit Premium Adam's Glass Cleaner Adam's Carpet and upholstery cleaner Various towels and brushes Ill stop talking here and let the pictures do the talking BEFORE: 6 FREAKIN HOURS LATER!!!! If you couldnt tell, Im trying to teach myself to use a camera better. This was some point n shoot camera that my parents have. Nothing fancy, just a macro setting and flash on/off. I really never thought it would take me that long just to do the interior of a car, but this........ this was bad. The dog hair took up the majority of my time. I had 2 tape rollers for lint, an actual lint brush and some brush meant for removing dog hair from carpets...... i want a new vacuum. Thanks for viewing Seth
I literally said WTF.....looking at the before pics, good job on the turn around..I noticed a apple on the floor..that can be a snack
I wouldn't say worst ever....seen pretty bad myself. But that was surprising so much junk was left for you to clear up. A nice tip you got if you kept that loose change (JK...I don't keep other's property). But really, great work.
Reminds me of my first detail ever... 3 weeks ago. A land rover discover 2... 5h on the interior. Had to clean all the door panels, and pockets, near the gear lever a stupid rubber mat attracted the dirt too easily, some type of rotten spilled substance under the driver seat, popcorn under the passenger, leather trashed (to no return as it was very much worn in) and sand in the trunk... He also expected me to clay, polish and wax the car for $180, in the day I had it! Told him the options he had and we settled on full interior, and a wash and sealant on the exterior. Washing a 8ft tall beast is quite the task as he had a full roof rack with rails for offroad (had to blowdry the roof and was not possible to seal the middle section). And the car was filled with dog hair... Next up a Land Rover Sport, E320, A4 2.0T Cab. Hard work pays off! And this contacts wife is a human resource VP at a major bank here! Perfect to get a co-op position in the summer time. Connections are a persons most valuable resource. BTW Great work!
that is nasty, I hope you charged accordingly....... ask the "rusty super", he knows all about having to deal with nasty interiors. " the worst one I had, i actually removed the door sill trim plates and found starbucks from god only knows how long ago. Great work!
I just put it all in a ziplock bag and gave it to her. There was actually quite a bit change but after seeing that penny stuck to to the seat.., yeah... Wouldn't want any of it any way. Usually people clean out some of their belongings before giving the car to me. I suppose this an exception
Very good work man! But I have seen far worse then that, which is disgraceful and very unfortunate. Actually, not too long ago, when I was looking for a used car, I went on Craigslist and found a 2005 Nissan Altima 4cyl for $4700 which I thought was a steal... well the car probably WAS stolen haha. The guy didn't have a title on it, the driver's door looked like it was crowbarred with all the damage and the interior, I kid you not, was worse then the Mazda in your pics. It literally looked like the car got jacked at some point, and the thieves ate chips, spaghetti, ketchup, pizza, and all kinds of other shit and wiped their hands all over the cockpit.
Crap, I forgot to add some photos to add to the other crap in there. Added! It should be mentioned that this car belonged to an 18 year old girl
Wow, you did an awesome recovery of that pig-pen, DirtyWeRX ! I have also had my share of dirty, nasty, vehicles, and always wonder the same thing - wow, i wonder what their house looks like ? Then, I think, - No, you dont really want to ever know... I think there are people that just throw everything on the ground and dont ever pick up. And this little lady is one of those people and you really dont want to know what her room looks like. They are so far removed from having the "clean up gene", etc., that they will pretty much be like this all the time, and that is what keeps our jobs way more secure than many others ! I have seen kids rooms where you have to literally walk over piles of clothes, etc., on the floor, but I have also seen a house where a family with 6 children lived and the garbage on the floor almost came up to your knees.. Now that was bad... Awesome clean up, amazed you did it all in 6 hours !! I might have taken a hose, hooked it up to the water heater, and washed the whole mess out !!! Dan F
That's nothin' lol, my jeep is about that bad. I just don't have the time to clean it. And when I do, I clean my real pride and joy. Great work on bringing that interior back in line!
it didnt show very well on the photos, but she has a short-haired dog and I spent close to 3 hours just trying to get hair out of the car
Great work. Buy a regular pumice stone if you want to save some time removing hair from carpets (cloth material). Can't use it in leather though.
Looks great! I hate to try to one-up you but I have done a couple worse (the never-cleaned Hurricane Katrina 1998 Camaro comes to mind). But you did fantastic work, that turnaround is amazing! :thumb: I feel your pain...I hate vacuuming up dog hair so much. The one thing I love about doing messy cars though is the result and the owner's reaction to how the car looks when it's finished. Always worth the effort that went into the car.
Interiors like that are a regular thing for me lol. I've actually dealt with a lot worse but that still was pretty bad. It's amazing how good cars like that look after just giving it a vacuum. If you don't mind me asking, what did you charge for that job? Hope the owner was blown away with the results.
Great turnaround!! BUT I agree,in my 20 years of turds the Rusty Super gets my vote, god that kid is a trooper, call me whatever you want, but I wouldnt take his jobs with a spray bottle of purple power and Kilo doin the wipin!! LOL
