I love Chemical Guy's stuff but was wondering what the difference was between the Sticky Gel and Diablo Gel wheel cleaner other than price. I would say a guess the Diablo gel is better since its priced almost double of the Sticky Gel?

Is it worth it and if I usually just use car wash soap and a MF towel to clean my wheels, is it worth it to get stuff like this?

I've tried P21S Wheel gel before, but I wash my car so often I don't think it made a difference at all, and couldn't justify buying it again.

    Any input would be appreciated.

Sticky gel should be enough to solve your problems.

IMO, wheel cleaners are really just another way for people like us to spend more money. APC can replace a lot of our products, but we continue to buy specific products for specific steps of our detailing routine.

In your case, if soapy water can solve the problem, you don't even need sticky gel.

I don't know that there is ever one product for all situations. I have different wheel cleaners because at times when I'm cleaning cars for friends my cleaner for maintained wheels won't make a dent on some of the brake dust that people have baked one. Go with sticky but mess with your dilution ratios.

I have three products to clean (Good, Bad and Ugly) wheel surfaces- P21S Total Auto Wash, P21S Wheel Cleaner and Sonax Wheel Cleaner

CG sticky gel and diablo are NOT the most powerfull wheel cleaners out there, but they are cost effective and work well on well maintained wheels...P21S gel is something you will need to leave for 1-4 hours to get it's full effect...if you want something powerfull, that work well and fast, check out Autoglym Custom Wheel Cleaner or Sonax Full Effect.

Im just gonna pick up some sticky and go 1:1 then and leave on for about an hour for my next wash.
Im really big on saving money cuz detailing stuff $$$ can add on quick and over the years I've already spent way too much.

Sticky Gel is much more powerful than Diablo. Diablo is safe for all wheels, including custom aftermarket wheels that don't have the factory coating.

I am still working on finishing up my last gallon of Diablo Gel and I can tell you that Sticky gel is staying on my shelf, while Diablo will not.

Personally, I think wheel cleaners are a lot of fun and I enjoy using them every car wash. My car gets washed once a week and soap and water works just fine for them to come clean 100% every time, but there are too many quality wheel cleaners out there.

To the OP, if you want to save even more money, I believe that CG Premium Blue Wheel Cleaner offers the same cleaning power as Sticky Gel, and at half the price.

versace, let us know which one you like better and if you notice any differences between the two. I usually keep Sticky Gel on my shelf because I like the extra bit of cling I get from the gel-baseed formula but no clue on which one cleans better based on my experience.

tomrrow I will buy both and show pictures of the differences.
I will do one on each front wheel and take before&afters.

    Thanks again Emile

Before you buy gallons, remember they are highly concentrated, you may end up with too much product

For my own baked on dust - after this long winter, I hit the wheels with Sonax. Since then, CG Citrus wash has been more than enough to maintain on a weekly basis. Coming from an Audi A4, I generate a good bit of dust every week.

If you add a sealant to the wheels, that helps as well. No reason why your normal car wash shouldn't be able to knock off any build up.
