didnt know where to post once again but this school section should be okay I am wondering what everyone charges and where there located? Im sure everyone wants to be competitive not to high not to low. I also know some feel they are that good of a detailer and or use that expensive of products to justify a higher price per location. Does anyone do deals, in order to come down on price, maybe a cheap detail if you know the car is going to be seen by a lot of people? I am thinking of a deal/program were if a customer refers someone they will get some money back, up to so many refferals. Basically encouraging them to tell someone about me.
will you qoute a price or just give a reasonable estimate? if you say 8 hrs but it takes you 10 will you charge for the 10?
No, what I usually do is give the customer an estimated time, say 4-6 hours. If I go over what I quoted I will only charge for the 6 hours. But if it only took 4.5 hours that is all I will charge for.
$650-$1000. 7-12 hours of time depending on vehicle. In this 2008 off-season, I am getting 2 appointments per week. No advertising, no decent website or website ranking. When I can ramp it up to 6-8 per week, I'll hire or partmer with someone to run my IT business and go into pre-retirement mode and focus on only runing the detailing business.
Yes I charge per job. No real hourly rate but I guess it works out to be $30 an hour or so, but sometimes more depending on what is being done, size of car.
I thought about pricing by vehicle size S,M,L and in each size category attach an estimated time and cost. Like Small vehicle up to 7hours working time =$279 and then if if takes me 8 hours instead should I charge additionally by the hour?
I charge $50/hr flat rate. Having said that I have only had a few people over the last couple of years ask for a quote before I did the work.
50/ hr hour for polishing/sanding. I have package deals that are priced according to the size of the vehicle
Here is a question, everyone here is saying the hourly rate but have you guys taken into consideration the cost of the materials used for the details? I'm sure you have as the hour rate can't possible include all the materials cost. So the question is, how do you guys break down the cost of the material along with the hourly rate? Sorry don't mean to high jack the thread or anything, I just think it's something that needs to be taken into consideration that's all eace:
I think in most business its something you need to understand but as far as a single detail expense goes I dont think its necessary. you could probably do it on a monthly scale as far as income and expenses and be good that way. If you could convince me why you would want it on a single detail basis then it might be something to break down.
