Subject: Brand new 2009 Subaru STI in WRB with 1500 miles. The car is a daily driver that will be living outside and making frequent ski trips up north.

The car had been sitting on the dealer lot for just about 10 months.

The customer brought the car in with the usual, some water spots, light swirls and scratches.

We prepped the car by using the ABC Wash System. Then proceeded to clay and polish the car out with Menznera PO106FA. Finally we applied a nice coat of Collinite.

    Nice. Looks good.

What's your opinion of the Valugard decon kit? I still haven't had a chance to try it yet, and this weekend the weather is going to suck (which you already know)

I've been using the decon kit well before we made it an item on the site.

    Its a good solid product.

Phil...was the paint horribly bad on the Subie? Why clay AND do the decon? I have found for the most part that you may only need to either spot clay or not at all unless the paint is a horror show.

    Emile Welcome to Detailing

Hey Phil, did you use the ABC Wash System or the 106FA to remove the water spots? I have a Dark Gray Metallic 08 WRX that suffered from sitting on the lot with dried-on water spots.

Even my Flex 3401 and Power Finish PO203 didn't take out all of the water spots. :shakehead:
I have 106FA also but that doesn't have as much cut as PO203.

Really excellent job and great write-up as usual, Phil.
