So I was fortunate enough to score the opportunity to do a review on the Einszett 1Z Detail-Spray Lackfinish courtesy of a free giveaway from Matt at Autogeek. Not only did it include the detail spray but also one of Autogeek's Supreme 530 Microfiber Towels which if I may add are truly awesome! Back on topic, below you'll find information about the Einszett Lackfinish in the same traditional format that I did with my previous review of the Grit Guard Universal Pad Washer. I’ll also briefly comment about the other quick detailers that were used in comparison to Lackfinish. Product name: Einszett 1Z Detail-Spray Lackfinish Mfg’s Description: From their website: Quickly and easily provides that 'just-waxed' finish between waxing using. Protects all surfaces from contamination using German polymer technology ("Polymolekulare Funktionale") which provides both wax-like protection that lasts for weeks as well producing exceptional depth and gloss. Simply spray on and wipe off with a microfiber cloth or soft, plush cotton towel for a showroom finish. Paintwork Finish offers exceptional protection when used in conjunction with Glanz Wax. From the bottle: Detail-Spray gently cleans and protects the paintwork between regular washings with a dust-repellant, gloss-enhancing wax-like finish. Effortlessly dissolves and removes fresh environmental contaminants such as dust, soot, fingerprints, bird droppings, tree sap and water spots leaving a long-lasting, tangible gloss finish. Great for use on all paintwork finishes including clear coat. Also for use on exterior chrome, metal, and plastic surfaces. From Autogeek’s website: Click here for mfg’s description. Mfg’s Directions for Use: Shake well before use. Turn spray seal to open. Apply on cool paintwork out of direct sunlight. Do not use on paintwork surfaces that are heavily soiled. Spray product on paintwork surface and wipe with a clean 100% cotton towel to reveal a protective deep gloss finish. For best results and to reduce smearing, apply with a quality microfiber towel. After use, turn spray seal to close. Mfg’s Detailing Tip: N/A Mfg's Disclaimers: N/A Mfg’s Guarantee: N/A Price & from where: Free giveaway from Matt at Autogeek Ease of use: Pretty simple. Either spray onto the surface and wipe or spray onto your plush microfiber and wipe into the paint. Compared to: Meguiar's Quik Detailer Mist & Wipe Mother's California Gold Showtime Instant Detailer Meguiar's NXT Generation Speed Detailer Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer (Optimum didn't have a product description on their website so I just referenced Autogeek) Einszett 1Z Detail-Spray Lackfinish Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine Quick Detailer Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer Specifications: Contains: 5-15% Alcohol, <1% diquatermäre Pflegekomponenten, <1% ampohtere Tenside, <1% Glycol, colorants and perfumes, Methylisothiazolinone, Benzylisothiazolinone. Process & Equipment/Misc. Used: 7 separate Excel Detail Blue Supreme Polishing Towels E-ZUP Sprint Shelter Pro’s: I don’t know what it is but it brings out a lot of depth to the paint, more so than its competition. It cleaned up the sap and the overall paint surface really well and looked the best out of all the quick detailers I have ever tested. Con’s: At $11.99 for 16.9 oz (can be had cheaper), it’s a pretty pricey quick detailer. In fact, it’s the one of the most expensive compared to its competitors. It smells a tad “chemically” in that you shouldn’t be inhaling this stuff but it’s definitely not overwhelming. Let’s just say it’s a smell you’ll get used to no problem. Conclusion: Overall it’s a great product! I mean, if I had the money I would buy a few more of these bottles but considering its current competition, I’d much rather be spending my money on the likes of OID and maybe Meg’s UQD (when it’s on sale at Kragen’s or Autozone). Would Recommend: I definitely would recommend this product to those that can really throw their money around and want amazing depth in their paint. It would be difficult to tell all on its own, IMO, but I definitely could tell the difference when it was compared to its competition. Background Information: There are a few things to consider before judging these quick detailer sprays. Firstly, I just washed my car this past Friday and applied OCW to my paint’s surface. Also, my paint was thoroughly cleaned with TECnique before OCW was applied. Since Friday, my car accumulated quite a bit of tree sap from when I parked under a tree at my friend’s apartment on Saturday and Tuesday. There was a very small layer of dust but was just the right amount to not require a proper wash. All things considered, pretty much the perfect opportunity to test these quick details sprays out. My car was parked on a slight incline on my driveway and the sun was hitting pretty hard on my black Integra. So with the help of my younger brother, we quickly set up the E-ZUP Sprint shelter to provide a large enough shade to cool off the hood of my car. Well without further a due, here are the pictures. Enjoy! Also, please don’t mind the imperfections in my hood. It’s by no means anywhere near perfect, LoL. Pictures: Several Before Pictures Sections Taped Off Products and Their Appropriate Box Designations I know, I know… having bottles on the hood of my paint is a big no-no but the hood’s going to be polished very soon anyways. About half way through my wipe downs with the quick detailers, I remembered that I totally forgot about UQD. So here are some pictures including UQD. After Pictures Meguiar’s Quik Detailer Mist & Wipe Mother’s California Gold Showtime Instant Detailer Meguiar’s NXT Generation Speed Detailer Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer (24 oz of distilled water, 8 oz of OID) 1Z Einszett Detail-Spray Lackfinish Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine (QD mixture, 32 oz of distilled water, 1.5 oz of ONR) Meguiar’s Ultimate Quik Detailer Top View With Tape Removed Meg’s QD (left) and OID (right) Meg’s QD (top left), Mother’s Showtime (top right), OID (bottom left), 1Z Lackfinish (bottom right) Mother’s Showtime (top left), Meg’s NXT (top right), 1Z Lackfinish (bottom left), ONR QD (bottom right) ONR QD (left) and Meg’s NXT (right) OID (left), 1Z Lackfinish (top right), Meg’s UQD (bottom right) 1Z Lackfinish (top left), Meg’s UQD (bottom left), ONR QD (right) Water Beading/Sheeting Pictures It was really weird but I got some mixed results. I can’t quite put my finger on it but I’ll just let the pictures do the talking because I can’t really explain it. I will note that after spraying down my hood several times, it seems like the hard water was affecting the stuff left behind by the quick detailers and in result would cause the water to not sheet or bead as if there was no protection left. I got tired of taking pictures at that point, LoL. Comments: I’d have to say that Lackfinish definitely wins in the look department with OID and UQD in a tie for a close second. However, due to Lackfinish’s rather high cost, I would easily leave it for the likes of OID and maybe UQD. I hope this review helped you all in deciding which quick detailer to invest in. Of course, you won’t really know for sure unless you try them all, hehe.
x2 Good lord. Nice work. IMO it was very difficult to see any major differences between all of them via pictures.
Thanks guys. Yeah there really wasn't much of a difference that I could tell. Lackfinish finished a bit better than its competitors but it's negligible if you were to use any of these quick detail sprays on their own. For me, quick detail sprays are just for maintenance anyways. I would only use them to clean up fresh bird droppings, tree sap, and for very light dust removal. Other than that, a normal wash will do!
I can say this, I've used Megs Quick Detailer, Megs UQD, Megs Last Touch, Megs NXT Speed Detailer, PB S&W and OID. Of those the two that impressed me most were OID and Last Touch in terms of looks. S&W and NXT SD for cleaning. Still want to try FK425 and ClearKote Quickshine.
Very nice review!!! Would have been good to see Aquawax in there as well, even though it's not a real QD...
Yeah, I really need to get a hold of some FK425, CK QS, and some Last Touch. To me, the ones that would be worth testing again against the new prospects would be 1Z LF, OID, and Meg's UQD.
Great Review!! Nice laptop. M1330? If so, does your screen resolution get thrown off for some reason, completely randomly? Mine does, and its annoying. A bubble will occasionally come up and say "click this" and it goes away, but then sometimes there is no bubble. Sorry just totally jacked up your thread...
Yep, it's a M1330 alright. Nope, I don't have any screen resolution issues. That does sound quite odd... maybe it's just Vista, like it usually is causing havoc.
Big Blaster Sprayer I purchased the package of 6. They're cheaper at USPlastics though: 36 oz Bottle with Red and White Sprayer
I am really interested in how it compares to Fk425, which I consider to be one of the best QD's out there and my personal favorite.
