Well' this is the 1st time I've ever showed any of my work on here. Hopefully this is satisfactory. I was contacted by a member of a car forum I belong to. He had a friend who bought this CRV and wanted it detailed before it was shipped to his father in another country. I had it for 2 days, so I did the inside on Saturday, and the outside on Sunday. Also snuck off to do an exterior detail onan Acura RDX over in Jersey:giggle: It was in usual condition for an '03 with the usual swirls, scratches, etc. I used my Husky Platform as I am kinda short in stature. The process was as follows: Engine: (no pics) Rinsed Sprayed down with Simple Green (full strenght) Left to dwell for about 15 minutes Scubbed in the areas I could reach with various brushes Rinsed Dressed with CD2 Interior: Vacuumed using Shop-Vac and various attachments Plastic/Vinyl cleaned with Meguiar's APC 10:1 & FK1 APC Glass cleaner with Stoner's Invisible Glass Vents/Seems/Nooks dusted with a boar's hair detail brush MF towels Upholstery pre-treated with Folex, heavy stains aggitated with a brush All seats/carpets floor-mats cleaned using Bissell LGM. Wheels/Tires/Arches: Rinsed Pre-treated with SG Left to dwell for about 10 minutes Various wheel/fender brushes used Rinsed again/ checked for missed areas Tires dressed with Stoner's tire shine Wheels dressed with CD2 Paint: I knew there was no LSP. 2BM Washed with Poorboy's SS&S and sheepskin wash mitt Clayed using Claymore Clay & Gliptone BodyBar Meguiar's Final Touch For lube Taped off with 3M blue painter's tape PC CCS yellow pads with Menzerna PowerGlos LC flat orange pads with Menzerna SIP LC flat white with Menzerna 106FF various MF towels IPA wipedown Stoner's IG with DD "uber" glass towels Doorhandles/Behind handles burnished with a red ccs applicator and SIP LSP: Werkstat AJT P21S Exterior plastics treated with 303 Aerospace Protectant ....and now onto the pics. Interior Before: Interior After: Exterior Before: Exterior Afters: I know this isn't the best write-up or pics, but hopefully you guys enjoy it.:campfire:
Hi Roger, Thats quite a list of products that you had to use and I can see why. I have to say that you did a beautiful job. It really looks great. You were also very organized in your write up. I really enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I didn't see any mention of that brand new Makita did you try it on some of the harder area's...:thumb:
Great job! Love how you brought the paint back to life. The thing looks brand new now. I know the owner was thrilled. So how do you like the Werkstatt AJT? I got to try some of krshultz's the other day and was pretty impressed.
Roger, this is great work..i especially enjoyed your work under the door handles, that was nasty in the befores and you made it look brand new...really enjoyed your write up
Whoa, that is some great work Rog! I like what you did with the trim and the paint under the door handles! It is definite a huge improvement. So what was your method for underneath the door handles?
Thanks :thumb: No makita on this one. It was done before I got it. Thanks. Your work is nice too. I love Werkstat AJT. Been using it for about 2 years. Don't use it on every car I do, just when I'm in the mood. Thank you. Thanks. I used a ccs red applicator pad with menzerna SIP for the door handles and under them. Basically, polishing them by hand.
haha nice i could tell from the reflections of the buildings in the cars paint and the couple shots of the alleyway. i grew up in and used to live in mayfair near disston and hawthorne.
Nice job, those interiors on those things are so weirdly colored. My friend's mom has a tan one, with tan interior. EVERYTHING is friggin tan.
man this thread came back from the depths for sure roger. nice work though. ^^^lol funny. i bet you got freaked out the first time you saw that.
