I have a friend who is on vacation for 3 weeks and dropped off his 06 white Civic for some clean up. The good part. Interior wise, the car is just majorly dusty, no weird stains, back seats are probably used maybe ten times... The exterior, here is our great problem. First: there was some moss, I think its moss :shead:. I remember seeing his car with some green stuff on it. He's washed it since and there is less, but still some. Second: the car was in an accident before and it seems like whoever did the paint on the front bumper sucks as its chipping off already. I know one thing about white Honda paint, no clear coat. The paint showing underneath seems to be a yellower color than what's on the outside. I'm not sure what I can do. No pics right now, maybe later. Now the real question... What can I do about the moss, and secondly the front bumper paint? I don't really wanna get anything extra for other than what I have right now. I have some clay, polish, wax, and a Griots random orbital. Thanks!
The moss you can take off with any citrus based APC pretty easily. We've got lots of it down here in the PNW. I generally soak with an APC, scrub with a light brush or bug and tar sponge, and then wash and wax the car. Don't even bother with body solvent, it doesn't do anything except for make an unnecessary mess. As far as the bumper goes.... That's a result of improper prep work. Work then likely the bumper wasn't hit with prepsol, soft scrubbed, and DA'd. If it was, the problem wouldn't be occurring. My recommendation would be to have the bumper repainted entirely. Any other attempts to fix it will just result in disappointment further down the line. There's no real chance of fixing it by polishing sadly.
