These two cars were in pretty good shape and were scheduled for exterior-only details. They both received a one-step polish and were sealed with 1Z Einzette Glanz Wax. The wheels and tires were excluded on the Avant. Both Audi's look awesome! I see you in the background making the stretch on the hood of the avant with your flex, dead center of the hood is always a reach for me as well. Seriously though both came out stunning!
Thanks! Actually that's the other half of the team - the *other* Dave lol. He's only about 5'5" whereas I'm almost 6ft. Not quite as hard for me. : I say... I should have a lot more of these coming very shortly.
Dave, the cars look great. Just a little side story, since you're obviously an S4 guy. My previous car was a B5 S4, a sliver one. I bought it already heavily modified from a local club racer. K04s, uprated RS4 intercoolers, some sort of absolutely stunning AWE exhaust complete with test pipes. It was a beautiful car. Came with a set of Fikse wheels on it, three different short shifters, H&R cup kit suspension, different swaybars, some sort of integrated Valentine One radar detector thing...a best of everything car. There was stuff on that car that the guy I bought it from didn't even know he had. Wonderful car...when it ran. Which was not often. Apparently whoever did the K04 swap kind of goobered up the job, and I ended up paying a mechanic a hell of a lot of money to fix all the stuff that was wrong with it. Misrouted oil return lines, stuff like that. By the time I got rid of it, mine was called a "Stage Three Minus," something along those lines. We'd taken the APR software off it and replaced it with GIAC software. It was making close to 400hp at the ground, on a Mustang AWD dyno. Basically it had everything possible with the exception of the upgraded injectors and fuel pump. I should have known I was in trouble the day I bought the car. It immediately sprang a power steering fluid leak. Audi, in their infinite wisdom, ran one of the P/S lines through the valley of the engine, under the intake manifold. Cost me like $900 to have that fixed, since he had to disassemble eleventy layers of stuff to get at the thing that was broken. The guy who worked on it for me claims he has one of the fastest B5 S4s in the entire country. I'm pretty sure he told me it's an 11 second car on drag radials. It was a very fast car, and beautiful to look at, but I went broke trying to keep it going. Didn't matter what the repair was, it nearly always cost at least $1000.
I'm sure Dave will appreciate the fact that we're trash talking Audis in his Audi detail thread...:sorry: I'll make it up to you Dave. PM me your contact information. I've got a buddy with another Nogaro Blue B5 S4 that I'll refer to you. I sent him to Phil, but Phil's waitlist is many months long, and I think Greg (my buddy) is running out of patience. It's got a bunch of water etching all over it that needs to be fixed. It's a daily driver, so I apologize in advance if it's a real basket case. It'll be a project, but Greg "gets it," so if you're expensive, he'll understand.
Great job.. In one of the pictures where the other Dave is streching over the hood, he's also pulling the electric cord over the fender:catfight:
Such nice work, love the Audis and SUCH a gorgeous color. In regards to the gentlemen with the issues on his S4, I would always be nervous buying a vehicle used with that many modifications to it. If you get an S4 that is certified used, then all the headaches are on Audi. I'd put a nice exhaust on it, but probably call it a day at that...
Great job man. Who owns those babies? Is it a husband and wife team? Let me guess, her license plate reads "I love him" and his reads "I love her". :crasy:
You know, it's a sad truth that a lot of S4 owners go through the exact same issues. I do all the work myself on mine, from suspension to brakes to clutches to pulling the motor, tearing it down, and rebuilding everything...I guess I am lucky to have the time and ability to do that. Being very close-knit in the B5 S4 community, your success with the car usually depends on two things - time and wrenching ability and/or money. Even then, it is still somewhat expensive to just buy the parts to maintain the thing. But I absolutely LOVE the car! I really wouldn't trade it for anything right now. If you don't mind me asking, what was the name of the person/shop that worked on your car?
Thanks! :thumb: No worries...Thanks! Thanks. I know, the fender hadn't been done yet at that point. That doesn't normally happen though. We were just in a huge hurry to get both cars done. We had from 9am to 6pm to do both... Thanks Phil! Thanks Bill! You're right, it IS nice! Hehe. :applause2: Thanks! Hahaha I'll have to tell my two buddies that you think they are husband and wife LOL...they will get a kick out of that. Just two friends of mine that happen to live close by to eachother.
That is quite a list of products you have. I would like to say great job and well done. Thank you for sharing...:thumb:
Thanks Buddy! You should see the whole list now...it's a sickness I tell you! However, since business is starting to pick up, I don't think that it's too much! Just sponsored a charity poker run today that involved over 100 cars...
dave how did the run go were my raffle prizes a hit yup I had 2 b5 s4's if you stay stage 2 you should have an extremely reliable car I have friends that are and were running 450 plus to the wheels and man those cars are in the shop alot. great cars when they work.
