Ok so this is the second annual detail for a friend of mine's Santorin Blue 2001.5 Audi S4. This car is pretty special. It's got a fully built motor, twin GT28RS turbos, and all the supporting bits. The car is a weekend car, and is kept in pretty good shape. This car was scheduled for a one-step polish full interior/exterior detail. After inspecting the car more closely, we both agreed that a full paint correction would be necessary to completely remove all of the imperfections in the paint such as the water etching spots and some deeper scratches that you will see in the before pics. This will be done after the car is garaged for the winter.

Ooooh what a beast! GT28 S4s are really something else. Looks great. Is it an ASP car? If not who did the work?

Yep it's an ASP car through and through...went in bone stock if you can believe it...the thing still feels brand new with 53k on the clock.

Great work! I love the color, especially after your magic touch! Im not familar with the ASP tunings of this car...what kind of power is it putting down?
How do you find the ChemGuys Stick wheel gel? Can it handle heavy brake dust?

    Thanks!

It's putting down close to 500whp on 93 octane. A race tune is still in the works.

The CG Sticky Gel is really awesome stuff! At 1:1 it is pretty much just as good as P21S straight. It's just as foamy, and is equally as safe. Not to mention it's considerably cheaper at ~$30 per gallon compared to ~$23 per litre for the P21S.

    Nice one Dave!

Care to share any hints on the care and feeding of Alcantara? We can take it to PM if you'd rather.

    Looks great Dave!

I have a question though, how does he run massive brembos in the front and stocks in the back, doesn't that mess up the brakes bias? For normal driving that seems fine, but if he takes it to the track it doesn't really seem like it would perform that well in hard braking while cornering.

Dave..the Audi looks awesome!! That colour is so vibrant..wow. Those front rotors are bloody boat anchors...shit, you must have to pull your teeth out of the dash pad, LOL.

His alcantara was already very clean and in great shape. Now that I have the LM foaming cleaner for suede and alcantara, that's what I use. I have yet to get the Eco Protector so I can't comment on that yet. If you need to trim your alcantara to get it nice and smooth and uniform again, one of those little electric lint shavers works wonders. Alteratively, for cleaning, many people use Mr. Clean Magic Magic Eraser which also works very well.

You're right on point. He does get a little squirrely under hard braking. The rear dances a bit. He is going to complete the setup with a set of 4-pots in the back, or at least larger rotors and more aggresive pads...

Haha thanks! The thing does definitely pull your eyeballs out of the sockets...
