VIDEO IS AT THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE WRITE-UP
Sorry about so many write-ups guys, I have a bunch more but I'll wait a little to write them up, this is the first time I've had free time in a while.

I forget how I met this guy, but he was a really cool guy who just picked up a G35 coupe and was looking how to take care of it and for opinions on mods(G35 is my favorite car, I know a lot about it), so I helped him by corresponding through e-mails, and we eventually met to detail his car. I love this car :applause2:

    ONR Clay lube
    Uber red towels

    Paint:
    Makita 9227C/3M Perfect-It backing plate

Ok, so this was exterior only, the owner had all the products to take care of the interior, and since I recommended them, he had all the right ones. So my main concentration was the paint. I did this over 2 days(planned for 1), but the first day was so bad with thunderstorms that the mixture of lack of time and rain messed me up, so I came back to touch up a couple spots I didn't have time to get to in the first day. Anyway, everyone that knows me knows that I mix polishes, I love it. This detail was no different, about 40% P203S and 60% PO85RD was my choice to knock out all of the swirls and knock back the RIDS a good amount without hologramming.

    Anyway, onto the pics:

Before: Notice how the paint looks dark, not all that reflective.

Reason for the lack of reflectiveness:

I debadged the G35 for him, and also installed new clear corners:

Here's what I was dealing with all day the first day :waiting:

The bucket was about a little bit past the grit guard with water, then after 15 minutes of rain, check out how much the rain added to it. It was POURING:

Man that looks great! I, too, love those cars. What a gorgeous shape - it's a 350Z in formal wear.

You need a bigger canopy.

The car looks dope man. I know how it feels like when it rains after or during when you're detailing, but again, it looks great man, nice turn around! :applause:

Looks awesome! I had the same problem the other day with a detail and it started down pouring and had to wait it out in the clients garage, bummer. Great work though it really shows.

Yea, I was doing this the entire time I was polishing every curve :drooling: The 2+2 seat is a big advantage too. I can't wait till I pick mine up next summer :applause2:

And yea, that canopy did jack. If you look at the picture where it's pouring, it barely protected anything, a tiny piece of the roof. It worked alright for working through when it was drizzling though.

No problem bro, if you stick around this forum, this is where I learned everything I know about detailing, some great people who all just get along, and they know even more than me! :mounty:

    Well done vehicle looks great.

Thank you for understanding and editing the video, very much appreciated :peace:

You know, I don't know how some of you guys do it. Detaling outside, exposed to the elements...I don't think I would detail as much if I had to do it outside and exposed to heat, wind, rain, sun, bugs..ect..ect..ect...so cudos to you for a job well done :peace:

Bobby great work as usual ....

Billy did my Highlander the same day you did this g35 ... that storm was so nasty that we experienced some flooding around the fields.

I'm sorry dude, but I couldn't help but laugh at the pic with the tiniest canopy I have ever seen ... lol. Is that the one you talked to me about from work? I don't blame you for not replacing yours this summer, but dude that should be something high on your buying list next summer.

No problem Carlos, and yea, detailing outside is very hard sometimes, heat, humidity kill you, so does rain, dust, and then at night the bugs just eat you alive, I would give anything for a garage haha.

Haha yea that was a bad storm, it just came instantly and left instantly, then just kept coming back. It was such a hassle to move all my equipment everytime. And yea ha, that's the one I borrowed from work, I only needed it to cover enough so I could do a couple sections, and it didn't even do that. Krschultz was kind enough to show me a nice one from K-Mart that works much better :mounty:

Great, it's my new favorite LSP! I just need to get my application down right, there's still some streaking sometimes which is a PITA because it looks like holograms, which it's not. Thanks for the sample though :mounty:

    Thanks :hippie:
