I don't usually give a story, but this one was worth mentoning. I get to the house and next door the neighbors are having their "dried up" grass mowed and of course the wind was blowing in my direction... so I start off doing the wheels and tires, then spray down the truck. And don't you know, as soon as it's wet... a big gust of wind comes and covers the truck in GRASS!!!!! AAARRRRGGGG I was pissed:catfight: So I called the cust and told that would need to take to my house to complete detail. Rest of long story short, I didn't finish this truck till round midnight!!! Rims/Tires/Wells: Rims, tire and wells PW off. Rims treated with Meg's Wheel Brite then tires and wells got Awesome APC. Let dwell for about 30 secs, then Tires and wells cleaned with black schmitt. Moved back to wheels and cleaned with sponge and wheel stick. Polished the center caps with RL chrome polish and rims got a QD wipe down. Tires treated one coat of Carbite purple dressing (thanks to TexasTB), then coated with D2G dressing. Wells got AA tire foam Wash Process: Rinsed, then front end, lower panels and windshield got Awesome Apc. Foamed with CGuys Citrus Wash/DP Xtreme foam mix. I had D2G soap in bucket along with sponge and boars hair brush for lower panels and front end. Rinsed, vehicle covered with QD then proceeded to dry. All cracks and what not air compressed out. Door jams cleaned with QD. Interior: Vac... then Meg's APC wipe down, used SV wheel brush and other various brushes. Leather cleaned with CGuys Leather cleaner+ and agitated w/Meg's interior brush. Interior dressed with PB natural look and leather got RL leather conditioner. The carpet and floor mats got CGuys Lightening/Folex mix, then did hot water extraction. Turned the heater on. After dried I applied CG odor neutralizer Paint Process: If any of you know me, you know that I LOVE to mix stuff. Well on the truck I did a mix of Collinite 845IW (75)/CGuys Wet Mirror finish(25). Applied via Flex on speed 3 and a black LC CCS Pad. Let stand for about 10mins. While curing I polished out the front and rear bumper w/RL chrome polish Buffed off w/ some CG/DD mf's Glass cleaned with SIG and Cobra WW's Random Shots: Sig Shot:
Looking good! So, did you like the Purple Dressing? I have about 2 spray bottles left in my 5 gallon pail. Not sure if I will try something else out this next time around or not.
Excellent work as usual Michael, and I feel your pain with the dry grass flying around everywhere! Dust is already bad enough in Texas as it is, no need to stir up anything else that could become airborne!
:afro: hope urs wasn't as dirty as mine Thanks Tonya... everyone's grass is like that right now It really did leave a nice finish, alot deeper than 845IW by itself Thanks bro From what it was, to what it is now, it's great.... I drove by it today and had to do a double take... thinking man that's a nice truck, then i realized I detailed it!!! Sparkster I always admire your work as well Don't know about that, but it's a nice truck... there are hundreds of them running around town :thumb:
You got that right!!! Luckily my house is good for blocking wind the way it's set up... so no problems and I was able to be effiecnt in the detail the purple stuff is good, alot like the RL stuff, just a little shiner. I mixed it with some DP gel and made it a little thicker so it sticks Hey thanks Dave, but it turned out better, I got a $30 tip cause she felt sorry for me!!!:headbang:
