Funkdoktor I see you only have 2 posts. I am not sure of you experience level. If you are going to try the yellow pad I would practive on something from a salvage yard first. :thumb: Just a suggestion

bro there's not much damage you can do with a pc... its a good beginner machine.

yellow pads aren't scary... just use with a compound or very aggressive polish only

Orange and yellow pads cut really well if you do it properly. I.e. keep making passes until the polish turns clear.

My favorite for the pc are the wolfgang orange or megs burgundy for a little more cut

yellow pad with optiumum on 5.5 for really bad swirls
    orange with SSR2.5 on 5.5
    white with SSR1 on 4.5
blue pad on 2-3 with klearkote vanilla moose hand glaze
    hand applied wax

the key is even distribution and making passes until it breaks down

To maximize correction with the PC use smaller pads

5" and 4" provide some nice correction via the pc with no bogging down of the machine!!!

A yellow pad provides the cut you need to paint repair. If your paint is in good condition, you may not need it. I have used yellow pads a number of times to remove heavy swirls/scratches. Make sure to pick a good product to compliment it.
