To my horror, I found out that one of my co-workers was shot in an attempted robbery attempt in Detroit last night. We are not allowed to carry in the U.S. now after 911. I pray for a complete and speedy recovery. Windsor police officer shot in Detroit recovering from attack
Richy, thats terrible. I sure hope he's okay and gets better soon. Best wishes to him and his family!
I wish the Officer a speedy and complete recovery. In a few weeks it will be the second anniversary of the death of my Brother. Two shotgun blasts in a robery attempt while he was making a delivery of newspapers on a Sunday morning. If he had $20.00 on him I would be suprised.
Sorry to hear, Richy. To not allow Canadian police officers to carry in the US is absolutely absurd. Especially in Detroit. Canadian officers coming from Windsor into Detroit should be issued weapons to visit.
Wow, these things always upset me...i wish him the best of luck..that guy will get what is comin to him
I'm very sorry to hear that. In this case too, it was just senseless. The bullshit is that we are allowed to carry in the U.S.(our peace officer status is recognized), it's that we are not allowed to bring the weapon across the border. I used to get in shit for not bringing it..Customs would tell me that they wanted the guns in the hands of the good guys! Things have changed, and not for the better, since 9-11. News update..Tom is doing very well considering and is going to get transferred to a Windsor hospital today. Thanks everyone for your prayers and good wishes!!!
sorry to hear this, it sounds like he lived and is recovering which is always a blessing I have to say its geat to know that the men and women who keep us safe in this country are willing to risk there lives even when they know the ods are against them. It makes me feel safer knowing that our officers have a strong enough consitiution to help even when they dont need to.. my hats off to the entire police force of canada, esp to you and your friend.
Richy, glad to hear you're friend is doing better. Detroit is a place where everyone (it seems) should be carrying a gun with them. Poppaj, sorry to hear what happened to your brother. Things like that remind me that what I see on the First 48 is very real. Did they ever find out who did it?
Richy, I'm glad to hear your fellow officer is doing better. PoppaJ, I'm sorry to hear about your brother.
Sorry to hear this . I wish him and his family the best and He very speedy and hopefully a speedy recovery. Hope they catch to dirtbag peice of trash that did this.
Thanks all for your condolences. Nope, never found those responsible. I spent many a weekend driving through the area looking for the vehicle discribed seen driving away by a witness. Just too many POS dark colored ford vans in the area. Even a $15,000 reward didn't bring any leads. Within a few days this was old news. Just another day on the mean streets of Detroit.
Sorry to hear that richy :comfort: So much violence in this world, makes it hard to see the good in people doesn't it
