    Hi all,
What do you know about these yellow towels that Costco sells?
What's your opinion ?are they good enough for exterior ,like applying liquid waxes ,paint cleaners ,washing etc?
I've heard some people use them on paint without any problems ,and some would only use them for interior.
What is pros and cons of using these towels on paint?

I have both the Costco, and the Adams and Detailers Domain MF's.

The Adams/ DD's are far superrior.

Although the Costco ones are quite nice. I use them for interriors and glass. Once they get dirty, I use them for door jambs, rocker pannels and wheels.

Great product for the price but not good enough for the paint.

    IMHO of course. :)

I don't have a Costco around me but I do have a Sam's Club. I picked up a pack of MF 25 for 10.88. I only use them as everyone else has memtioned.

IMO the blue ones from Sam's are a little thicker, but like others have said not on paint.

Thank you for your replies,I would like to know though if you have a reason why you would not use them on your paint?

I'm basically looking for those who have tried it on the exterior paint and were disappointed for one reason or another?

I know that the 70/30 or 80/20 blend percentage ,or whether is closed or open loop, will somewhat dictate the quality ,but IF this Costco MF was used on a paint, will it scratch/Mar the paint ?or is it because it is not as absorbent as it should be?

Quite a few members of a Honda site who are mostly inexperienced or rookie detailers praised these towels to my surprise, that's why I brought the question here to find out if Any of our members has a first hand experience.

If there price is real good give it a shot after polishing wipe the panel down if you see any maring then stop useing them for the paintwork! Im sure they will work beter then a bath towel or a tshirt for any other duties.

I use them alot basically b/c I get them for 13 bucks for 38, but I actually have no problems with them...and compared to the SAM'S club ones they are far superior.

I used them on my porsche details that had one stage paints b/c I was pulling off paint and I didnt want to ruin my expensive towels by staining them with paint so I used my "desposable" costco towels....very soft and worked great.

now also mind you one stage is harder than clear and wont scratch quite as readily so I still use detailers domain ones on clear coat details..esp if i'm removing my LSP

as long as its a new one i'd sya your good i throw my away though i never wash them cmon there 13 bucks for 38???

i have been use the costco mf's for a few months now mainly for interiors, wheels, etc. At £6.00 for 25 mf's its the kind of price where i can bin them after one use.

Few weeks back i thought id would try these on paint so i did a cd test with them and they passed. I tested them on a ferrari that had been polished with the Menz range and must say they did a great job of removing the polish and its oils.
They didnt scratch or marr the paintwork at all.

I personally wouldnt reuse them on paint after washing them though as they are not the best of mf's

Go down to Target and pick up some of their gray MFs. They are very nice and I'm not afraid to use them when wiping off waxes and sealants.

    Rule of thumb: CD test!

Well I've used these yellow Costco towels to remove polish, they have worked great. I've been inspecting the vehicles very closely to insure that I don't induce any micromarring and so far so good. If I get a really sensative clearcoat I use my Tornado towels...but the Costco towels have worked quite good inside and outside.

    That's just my :2cents:

I love my Tornado and Cookie Monster towels from e-shine! That is all I will use on my paint! The smaller WW are great on the windows!!!!!

I haven't used the Costco towels but I do get some of the Sams towels every once in a while. They work great on interiors, glass, and wheels.

Thank you all for giving you honest opinions,I think the myth of these towels not good for paint is TOTALLY BUSTED.
You wouldn't believe how many "detailers" have warned me against using these towels and now thanks to you guys the question has been put to rest.
I definitely like the Tornado towels which have a much higher quality and are great in removing waxes or sealants but lets say if you are using PB spay & wash ,or just removing dirt,it would be a shame to use tornado towels and that's when Costco should come in handy.
    But this just humble opinion.

I use them for everything but paint and interior finished plastics. IE wood trim, gauge clusters, nave systems...

the only problem with the towels is quality control! thetowels are fine for paint when te quality is good, but when you get a "bad" towel it can mar the paint. that is why i cd test every towel i get. most people that say bad about them are the ones that got some bad towels.
