This vehicle belongs to a monthly customer, I've had their account for about 2 years and have been trying to talk them into paint correction because it needed badly from past detailing and tunnel washes. They recently had the front end, hood and a door repainted so they finally decided to take the plunge. This was only a one-step correction followed by a finishing polish. Process: Wheels/Tires/Wells: Pre-rinsed all wheels and soaked with Diablo wheel gel. Agitated wheel face with SV wheel brush and inside of wheels with Daytona Wheel brush. Tires got TC Mighty Red apc along with the wheel wells. Rinsed again Follow up with a coat of TC White Pearl on the tires and wheels got a coat of OCW. Wash: Pre-rinse, sprayed front end, windshield, side-view mirrors and lower panels with LA's Awesome APC. Then foamed with TC citrus wash and let dwell for 3 minutes. Washed with Ulti-mitt, LC sponge and pinnacle bug sponge. Rinsed off. Dryed with TC WW drying towels Clay: Blue magic blue clay with TC Premium Detail spray as lube. Prep: Did an IPA wipe down prior to taping up car and polishing to make sure all defects were visible. Used 1000w halogens along with brinkman. Correction: First step was Menz PF, using RB backing plate, makita and Uber green pads. Spread the polish around 900, then worked in at 1500-1700, and before I worked back down I sprayed the pad with distilled water and finished down at 900 rpm. Used a ton of the TC plush mf's and and IPA wipe down after each section. Some area's I got 85% correction first time around, some required 2 passes to match. After the whole car wash polished I did another IPA wipe down. Then proceeded to finish off with Meg's 205, black waffle pad and flex. Spread at 1, work in at 6 then finish at 3. Again doing an IPA wipe down after each panel and once again on the whole car after polishing was complete. Protection/Gloss: I did a first coat of BF sealant via flex and red LC pad speed 3. Let set for 15 mins, buffed off and then let cure over night. Next day I added a coat of Dodo Juice Purple Haze Pro edition via red DD applicator. To make sure I used all the wax of the app, i would mist it with Dodo Juice Red Mist to reactivate the wax of the app. Let haze then buffed off. I then did a wipe down with chilled distilled water to ensure all wax residue was removed. Once I pulled the car outside, I guess the wax sweat, so I pulled inside and did a final wipe down with Gloss-it QD. Misc: Glass cleaned with beta TC glass cleaner. Tips on pipes polished with Opt. Metal polish and #0000 steel wool. Vac interior via metro vac and wiped down interior with Meg's Interior QD These are after wash pics/before clay: Trunk under the halogen: After Polish: There are still some RIDS after that I wasn't going to chase for the fact the customer didn't want to pay for full correction/ BF sealant applied: Purple Haze Pro applied: Exhaust tip: Finished product:
Looks great, some damn good reflections. Quick question in regards to the TC Citrus wash: After you foam with it, do you mix some up in a bucket to wash? If so, how much do you use? I can't get a lot of suds with it and I'm scared to use it by itself as a car wash.
Normally in the wash bucket I just use red wash. Or if its really dirty, I'll mix the citrus wash with some of the red wash to get more sudsing action, same deal with the foam cannon. I'll use 4-6oz of citrus wash then a couple of red wash.
Nice job, nice crisp reflections on that one. TC citrus is amazing and can be used for so many things as you know very well...How did you like PH Pro have you used the regular PH version, any notable differences?
The citrus wash is very versatile... and better than CG CWC. Again, I feel it ranks up there with P21S TAW. The PH Pro reminded me a lot of RB OE in terms of how hard it is and how it takes some working to get onto the pad. But it spreads pretty well. Buffs off very easily too! It's got some of the same properties as Supernatural and Red Mist so the durability is supposed to be awesome... but time will tell! ? Thanks Andy, she's going to eventually trade it in for the Lexus LVF, LFV? Thanks Bro :thumb: :thumb: I have some more things to post, but I'm just picky about what I want to put on the boards anymore.
Its about time you posted something! Looks really nice Michael! Can you post some pics of your trailer?
Thanks Piet... trying to match your skilz on the 370z No problem, i know it's not as noteworthy as some, but I do what I can! Can't wait till next month so I can do a follow up wash and see how it beads It sure does! Crazy what cars do now a days Thanks Geezer... haha LOL. I'll send some pics of the trailer later
