So, i am getting ready for my Spring paint correction on my Mustang. The color is Metallic Red. The paint is in VERY good condition, but has lights swirls and VERY light scuffs from washing and daily use. I have picked up Menz Power Finish and some Green pads.... Do you guys think that Power finish + the green will be good enough? I also have SIP and 106FA and was wondering if i should just 2 step the car instead. Let me know, the swirls are VERY light. So light it need to be 100% bright sun to see them. I pretty much have VERY LIGHT micro marring. Thanks guys, any tips would be great.
I used SIP on a car with a green uber, it did fine but I had to finnish it down with Superfinish. Some spots i was able to use just the superfinish with uber green as well. I think you will be ok.
Ken how will it finish down compared to 85rd on solid black? Handz I just corrected my black mustang gt this weekend but did a two step using M205 on a Hydrotech Tangerine and followed it up with 85rd on a LC Blue. I used both my makita and pcxp to get the correction done. I did not get 95%+ correction this time I say more like 85 to 90% since I didn't want to chase the deeper scratches this time. I wanted to get 203S and get some green ubers and do a one step but kept thinking that it wouldn't finish down as nice as if I were to use 85rd.
Thanks Danny, I wanna correct my car for the spring, just trying to decide if i need a 2 step you know. When i swapped the motor on my mustang a few months ago, I took the hood off the car and while it was being moved it got a few light scuffs.... My main concern is handling the hood. I also picked up CG celeste dettaglio to try out
There is a difference in gloss if you finish down with 85rd but like Ken said powerfinish cuts almost like sip and finishes like 106. A true one step polish.
Let me know what route you go man what engine did you put in it? Tell me it was a 4.6 4v Sent from my HTC EVO using Tapatalk
What are you using for machine? If Flex 3401 or greater, you should be fine. I use that combo all the time and it's a great combination for a 1 stepper.
