Any one have any idea as to where i can buy some clear buckets similar in size to the orange Home Depot buckets? I like the Dodo Juice buckets, but they are $$$ and i can't justify that kinda of $$$ for buckets.
Home | Plastic Tanks | Plastic Buckets | Plastic Bottles | Labware | Plastic Tubing | PVC Pipe | U.S. Plastic Corp. CHECK THIS PLACE OUT
Like mine? It has the measurement scale on the side. You can also see the gritguards in there. I enjoying seeing pretty color shampoos in there lol 5 Gallon Wash Bucket Combo - CLEAR
Thats for the bucket, gritguard, and lid you goober!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah thats what I was sayin. Dont liek buying from them but they had the BOGO with this like a week ago I checked that out too but had too much writing and junk on it
I already have grit guards. dont need lids. and I dont feel like waiting a week to get them. i dont mind the writing as I currently used old joint compound buckets like these: http://www.lowes.com/pd_11751-325-3...t_quantity_sold|0&storeId=10151&storeId=10151
I got a couple for from Lowe's for cheap, not completely clear but clear enough. The DoDo juice buckets have been looked for before, no one could find them except for in the UK and they were pretty expensive.
i saw the lowes ones, are they wide enough at the base to allow the grit guard to go all the way down and sit or does the grit guard get jammed halfway?
If they are the semi transparent ones that have some writing in black and red (like the amazon link) then yes the GG fits fine. it is what I use.
lucky you guys can go just go to your local hardware store for buckets but in Aus we use the metric system, so the grit guards dont fit with otc buckets here i spent quite a bit more than those AG prices for my bucket + grit guard + lid
I ended up buying 2 translucent buckets at Autogeek for $34 (BOGO). They come with the gamma seal lids and grit guards. I did not need grit guards or even the buckets when I checked on gettint the gamma seal lids I was almost at $20 (amazon.com)so for $14 I got a 2 buckets and grit guards and free shipping with other items. I know everyone does not do the math this way but it was not that much more. The translucent buckets even have marking for 1/4 gallon increments. If I had not got them from AG on the BOGO. Phil was willing to sell them without grit guards.
Hey, I came across this thread while searching something online and wanted to share some information. I believe that the buckets that are sold by AG are manufactured by a company called Leaktite and are basically the same thing (minus the writing) as linked earlier at Amazon HERE. As with many of their products (ie. Gilmor quick connects/shut off valves/etc.) I know that they must use a well know company which lead me to Leaktite who, if you look HERE, offers custom advertising to their buckets. Leaktite also makes a gamma seal lid. I found this interesting because Leaktite products are said to be carried at my local hardware stores (Warrens, True Value, Ace Hardware, Home Depot, etc.). I assume that if you come across any buckets that they sell that is labeled with the stores name it is a Leaktite. Now if only I can find a local place that sells the clear bucket I'll be happy. Finally, being new here, what is the seeming hostility towards AG? I've been ordering from them for some time and I have to say that the customer service has been truly amazing (replaced 2 GG polishers no question) and their prices/products are very competitive even before considering price matching. I will admit that some things (like the pad washers and foam guns) are overpriced in my opinion and I'd also like them to offer free shipping all the time for orders of ~$100. But all in all I'd say they are a great shop. And, to be honest, I should have just bought the bucket/grit guard/gamma lid package they have on sale right now for $30 because when you add up all 3 of those (and have the option for a translucent bucket) it's actually a very good deal. If you could get it on BOGO (when was this on BOGO? I missed it!) it's an AMAZING deal. Cheers!
As I posted earlier, I took advantage of the AG BOGO deal so I got 2 for $34. If you buy the parts yourself: clear bucket ($5), the gamma seal lid (about $7 also from amazon), grit guards ($9), plus shipping, it was getting very close to $25 or so for a set so I decided to pay $34 from AG and get 2 buckets sets. I was after the gamma seal lids. They supposedly will work on the Home Depot bucket.
Yes the gamma seal lids will work with the Home Depot buckets as they are made by Leaktite (I know cause I have them, check the bottom of the bucket). HERE is the gamma seal lid. HERE is another alternative gamma seal lid on Amazon. Basically any gamma seal lid made to work on a 5 gallon bucket will work. You can see even if you get the buckets for a great deal of ~$3-$5, if you want the gamma seal lid and grit guard anyway than the AG deal is right on the money. If you just want a bucket, than it's a different story because AG wants like $12. I'm curious, does the clear buckets from AG have measurement marks along the side? I know that the other ones don't which is something that I would have liked to see on all of them.
Yes they have measurements on the side and made by Leaktite. The original BOGO was for the red buckets but I asked for clear and as usual (great CS) they allowed the switch. Phil at DD also seemed interested in selling his clear buckets without the dolly which was my back up plan.
