    How do you do it?

Hot water in the tank with some vinegar and spray and extract?

If so how much vinegar per gallon oh H20?

If not what is your process?

    Thanks in advance!

Jason...I use about a half gallon to 3 gallons of water to mine ...i have a heated model and hard water..so it helps get any light scale build up out..thats what Mytee told me..after a few months use... use the pro cleaner for scale removal..I forget the name..i think its on mytees site....

the vinegar also helps prevent any slime algea from growing in the lines...

    which extractor do you have....

I spray in a bucket and suck it up....to clean both hoses....you can save for reuse or toss..i toss...vinegar is cheap...1.98 a gallon here...at WM

I bought is used so no warranty or paperwork.. BUT what I did get was what appears to be a VERY lighly used extractor for 50% off retail!! You bet I'll let you know how it workd out..

I actually used it before busying on on side of my vehicle and it worked great!

So 1 part Vinegar to 3 parts Water right? Then after a few months of usage the pro cleaner?

I just got a little portable extractor just s few hours ago [IMG]

Jason..yes...sorta...lol....my tanks hold 6 gallons each...i use 1/2 gallon to 3 gallons of water...so it is like .5-3 ratio...

your has 1.5 gallon tank's....so i would say 16oz to a gallon would be fine..plus its not heated your just doing a cleaning of it..no scale removal....it will just clean and freshen it up...gets all soap residue out of lines and tanks...

    WHITE vinegar

    Got it...

Yup I have a bunch of white vinegar for other cleaning uses.

If the water I add to the tank is hot it would remove scale correct?

    Thanks!:headbang::mounty:

i read the directions that came with my steamer and they also recommend to use vinigar to break down any hard calcium deposits that might build up............

the water alone will not remove scale..the vinegar will....scale comes from water with high mineral content...but you should not have any scale..it only gets on the heater tank...your just getting any soap scum out of the lines and freshening up the tanks and any residue in them

    Notes:
    1. Use the hottest water available it also helps to pre-spray the carpet with hot water when cleaning carpets / mats
    2. Rinse with plain hot water, then run a 2:1 solution distilled water / distilled white vinegar thru the extractor either weekly, or after every ten fresh fills. Vinegar, contains Acetic acid, an organic carboxylic that will help eliminate scale, mild mineral deposits etc. from clogging your extractor tubes etc.
    3. Rug Renew from top of the line can revive stained or dirty fabric’s, you can use its super-concentrated formula diluted 5:1 with Distilled water as a spot remover, or dilute 20:1 in your extractor. Top of the Line Auto Detailing Supplies
    4. Folex Instant Carpet Spot Remover - Folex Instant Carpet Spot Remover removes spots and stains
    5. Odour removal- add 4 ounces Odour Terminator to each gallon of extractor solution - (Automotive International - Valugard Product Line

    Hope this helps
