Most of the time I just use worm water and wash by hand, but I clean all my pads as soon as I'm done polishing that way the polish wont be as difficult to remove from the pads.

I do use this method only for wool pads, the wash with water that is. For the foam pads I use the Pinnacle pad cleaner (can't remember the exact name) I like how it foams up, but that's just me

Wow, Carlos..what do the worms do to the pads?? hahahahhahah..sorry, couldn't help myself on that one!! :) for me, spin them with a spur while doing the job...every panel or two, depending on how dirty it is. After, spur again, and then in my Universal Pad Washer.

I do the same as Carlos pretty much, in that I spur them often, usually after every section, during the detail, then spray Meg's APC+ 15:1 after the detail and wash by hand in warm water

Hmm, the more I hear about wool spurs being used, the more I think I should invest in one. I guess I could technically get by with just the UPW but maybe it's just me trying to convince myself that I need to make another purchase. Should I really get one?

I don't know how you polish without one... same with a brush and foam pads... I can easily use 3-4 pads on a 2-3 step polish around the car.

Well if the pad gets really loaded and gummed up, I just clean it up in the UPW.

After cleaning my last batch of about 20 pads by hand I thought about getting the GG UPW. Do you find that you also might not need to buy as many pads because you can just re-use the same few through out a detail, as long as you use the pad washer after every couple of panels to keep them clean? Economically it seems like a smart investment then. I bought like 10 white ccs pads becuase I use them so often on a detail that when one gets dirty I just grab another and another and another but I might only need 2 of them on a detail if I keep cleaning them with the GG as I use them, that sound about right Denzil?

Yeah, by having the UPW, I really don't need all that many pads for a detail. However, it's convenient to have more than 2 pads of each type just in case you have some time constraints that you must meet and just need to power through the detail by saving the pad washing until the very end of the day.

Totally agree on that. I have at least 5 of each pad I own. I just bought some new Edge 8" CCX pads to test out and there double sided so I dont need a bunch of them, maybe 2 of each is all I would need for now, being double sided that gives me 4 pads per 2 technically and if I keep em clean throughout a detail with the UPW I could save some coin in not having to buy so many. Thanks.
