Cleaning this sticky steering wheel

    I would try steam next. What did you use with the different APC's though? Did you use just a microfiber towel?

    Is that leather or plastic? what is it made of?

    If you are using an APC, try using an interior only cleaner. APCs can leave residue if not rinsed which can be sticky.

    I know what you are dealing with ... my brother has a Pathfinder and I detailed a 2006 Altima with the same issue. I couldn't get the stickiness completely gone, but it wasn't as bad once I cleaned it with 1Z deep cleaner and finished with 1Z cockpit.

    ^^^ this, I used chemical guys leather cleaner on some steering wheels after realizing that the APC was making it worse.

    I used APC because I didn't have any dedicated interior cleaners on me. I did wipe it off some distilled water afterwards to clean off the nasty APC residues. I'll get some cleaners for the interior and give it a try. Thanks for the responses, everyone.

    Megs interior cleaner works great, and you can get it anywhere.
