Hey Guys I have my customers car that has chrome rims and there is quite a bit of rust on them. Please let me know if you guys have any good ways to get it off. Thank you Todd
Hey Todd. Unfortunately that is corrosion, not rust. A diluted acid will safely and effectively clean those up but the corrosion is under the plating. Time for a new set of wheels.
Thanks for the help what kind of acid should I get? I cleaned the wheels all ready and the customer knows that it wont all come out. I just need to polish today and finish them up.
I've used 0000 Steel wool/metal polish for situations that I found nothing else would handle. It leaves a tiny bit of micro marring but still looks great in the end.
Even Meg's Wheel Brightener or Autoglym Clean Wheels would work fine. AG is available at Canadian Tire.
I have P21 S and also have Opti metal polish I give them a try and last resort the finishing steel wool. My OCD will kick in and I will spend to much time on them lol. Thanks for all the help everyone Todd
