Hi all, I am trying to clean exhaust tips. They are tarnished and have some sort of tarnish spots? I cannot get them out. I am using Never-Dull and P21S Finish restorer and having zero luck. Would anyone know of a solution? Thanks!
Try #0000 steel wool and the products you already have, and if a couple hits of that doesn't improve it at all then I would say you probably have to live with it. Do it on a spot where the stains are instead of the entire exhaust to see if it's working, like one of the back spots and you can pound it into submission and see if you're making any progress. If you're not, unfortunately it might be permanently stained and it's better to live with the spots rather than ruin your entire exhaust finish trying to remove them. Like I said, try it in an inconspicuous area first. Good luck!
Yep, the steel wool should do the trick. I also tend to wipe the tail pipes down with tar-remover before polishing them, sometimes this help dissolving the heavier accumulations. And if you're after a some new metal polishes, have a look at the ones Briliant do and top the result with Blackfires Metal Sealant. Kind regards, Ebbe
carlack systematizing with # 0000 or Autosol metal polish with steel wool or scrub brush,, achieves good results
I've actually had good luck with the steel wool and Menz PowerFinish. Then, followed up by P21S Finish Restorer.
