hey guys, I have a bottle of Meguiars Quik Detailer. I haven't used that yet because I was planning on returning it. But I forgot about it, and now I don't think I can return it. Last time I clayed the families cars I just used Meguiars Gold Class car wash mixed with water as a clay lube. Is there really going to be a difference in quality if I use quik detailer vs car wash & water? Brendan
but like once I run out of QD, is it alright to just use soap and water? I keep my clay in a container filled with meg. gold class car wash and water. Thats fine as well right?
Soap and water is completely fine, no need to store it in a container filled with anything. I would actually recommend against doing so.
I agree. I have found through doing it that using soap and water as a lube will work, but your bar will break down alot faster.
wouldn't it help keep the clay more moist and clean? At the dealership I work at they do that. But nobody there is really a true detailer including myself.
that was one of my main concerns. But I guess i'll take it out. I just thought it would help keep lubricated and cleaner
I am going to prep the car tomorrow for the winter "gonna be busy later this month" So I am thinking of using soap for the clay from the foam gun directly, any issues there or is it the same as the bucket and spray method?
