Hey guys, i was thinking i might need some more aggressive clay for the tough vehicles i have been doing lately. I usually keep a lot of fine stuff around for mine, but need for muscle for other cars i do. My questions is this...have you guys used the clay block seen Hi Tech Magna Sponge ...i have heard these marr the hell out of paint, but doesnt aggressive clay (say Meg's red)?? I may or may not be polishing after using it but seems to me a more economical alternative to clay if a heavy duty clay has to be used. Whatcha think?

It is more agressive (6/6) than Automagic Red clay (5/6)

So i guess we are talking more marring then, would it be a ton??

Works ace! Use a large bucket filled with water and 2oz of shampo. Mix and foam. Apply the wash solution on the paint with a new sponge or wash mitt. Use the clay block with no pressure. Rinse the clay block with water. Repeat.

So you would recommend this? Did you notice an unusual amount of marring after?

something that aggressive will sure marr the paintwork. Why do you need something that aggressive anyway? Try the least aggressive approach first.

Use the ABC Decontamination system instead. It cleans better than clay, but doesn't marr the paint at all. Especially if you are not polishing afterwards. If you use aggressive clay, you pretty much have to polish.

Yes I would. I think this is much quicker and safer then using a clay, if you are rinsing the sponge pad often. Cheaper as well, drop it - well then clean it under water and use it again. I have not noticed any marring since I started to rinse the sponge clay regular and use a lot of lube(shampo and water in a bucket as above). Get one a try, it will take a while until you find out how to get the best out of it.
