Hello, After I had my attempt with Onyx and a little correction I got hungry for more. I started to complete my collection, read a lot about various methods of correction etc. I decided to try once again to correct and detail my ITR to reach better effects. Firstly I needed to have 3 elements resprayed, then it was time to act. The paint was well maintained, not heavily scratched and really sleek, no need to clay at all as it was done before. I concentrated on paint, the rest was a “quick”(but thorough) sweep. Wash: Meg’s NXT Meg’s Sponge 2 buckets Karcher pressure washer Correction: German rotary of unknown company 3M Extra Fine 3M Ultrafina SE 3M orange pad 3M yellow pad 3M blue pad Meg’s SwirlX Wheels/tyres: Wurth wheel gel SV Wheel Brush SV Car Bath SV Autobahn SV Pneu Heat resistant paint - calipers Paint prep: IPA Swissvax CF Glass: Meg’s glass cleaner Interior: Meg’s Natural Shine STP Tuff Stuff Engine Bay: Meg’s Tech Protectant LSP: Swissvax Concorso Zymol Titanium Other: Dual halogens Mom’s hair dryer Mom's vacuum cleaner SV microfibre cloths Sonax and Meg’s cloths – tons of Red Bull 1 Band Aid Here are the tools, a rotary and some 3M Perfect-It gear, now I own a Makita but that then I needed to use my mate’s machine: Washed the car with Meg’s NXT and removed all that I could in preparation fo correction: Taped up some crucial elements: Here are the imperfections, front bumper was hammered by what? Good not to know I guess: Few passes and what a difference, sadly micro stone chips are visible, but only when using macro camera mode, luckily so far people’s eyes don’t get that option as standard: Swirl City, as the paintjob guy ended at stage 1 compound leaving me the pleasure to learn and remove (rear fenders and bumper got resprayed): Only at sharp angle under the light do you see the swirls: After: Now time to blitzkrieg the left fender: I guess this will do, 95% of defect are gone: Time fore some refining passes, that’s how it looked like after that: Some more sharp angle shots with halogens to make sure it’s all gone: Time for an IPA wipedown and arming up the car with plates and rest of the stuff: Rims? Of course, gave them a clean too. Took them off and cleaned with Wurth Gel,: Front ones were a bit untidy: Wurth worked it’s magic, agitated with SV brush and rinsed off: From outside only SV Car Bath and SV brush did the job: Calipers got a quick repaint in silver as previous use of acid cleaner damaged the appearance, then fitted the wheels back: Autobahn time: Autobahn removed, tyres dressed with SV Pneu: Time to say hello to my little friend. Concorso sample will have to do, so far my jug hasn’t arrived. Firstly I used SV Cleaner Fluid to cleanse the car properly and get it ready for wax. Took almost 3 hours to apply as I was in constant panic that 10ml won’t be enough. Well, it was, now I know that even more generous application using more fingers than one would do. Anyway, the layer was quite thin I guess: Took a break to let the wax sit, it was to....oh no.... MEDIC !!! Got my 3 letters together and became a man, again. Removed the wax with Meg’s plush towels, heated the paint witha dryer and buffed it with SV micropolish cloth, here are some reflection shots. Yes, there will be some outside shots as soon as I get time and dry weather: Time to finish up. Zymol Titanium applied to various hidden areas to test. Much softer than Concorso, pleasant coconut smell, easy on/off – a good product. I cleaned and vacuumed the interior and carpets. Not too much space in the garage to picture interior properly, sorry. Trust me, it’s clean: Seats got wiped with clean cloth and STP’s Tuff Stuff, they don’t require harder cleaning for now, plus it needs to be warmer for that, in spring I’ll come up with proper stuff and way to clean and impregnate them: Engine bay was washed couple of weeks before and didn’t get messy that much as I don’t drive the car often now. I gave it a quick wipedown with Meg’s Tech Protectant (so I did with exterior black trim) and that’s it: That’s it, thank you for looking. I promise to post some outside pictures soon.
Top job!!!! I'm gonna ask the obvious - at least to me...tell me that wasn't masking tape you used???:sorry:
