chinese rupes bigfoot clone spotted

Not sure if anyone else has been following but apparently the chinese company M shine that makes the griots units also makes a replica bigfoot with similar specs. Several threads on DW about it. Anyway chemical guys posted a picture tonight on there Instagram feed of someone using a machine I did not recognize. When I questioned what it was some one said it was the flex 3401. I posted some details about the M SHINE UNIT and then the thread was deleted. So I think that is pretty good hints that CB will be carrying it

 

This is interesting. I know there are several threads about this on other forums and people discussing the pros/cons to the machine. I don't know enough to form an intelligent opinion on it and have yet to even try the Rupes. I will be curious to see how this impacts the market.

I wouldn't buy it out of principle.

 

Hints of it being out there, won't be the same machine but it may have potential for the cost point.

 

i wont be buying.my small amount of times with a rupes did not impress me ..even more so if CG is selling it. but i figured i would share with you guys

 

what is scary is once this items start to make it into the supply chain as 'real' rupes

Rumor is this is going to be the new Griots 4th gen, or perhaps step up the price point to around $200-225 and label it as a step up in the detailing regimen.

 

That would be fantastic...and at still half the price!

 

For what its worth I contacted the manufacturer (on alibaba/aliexpress) and they would sell me 1 unit for about $230, very tempting to buy one for myself to test out. Obviously much cheaper to buy in bulk.
