Found a chicago adj speed 7" rotary at harbor freight for $35, wondering if its any good for me who details only a few cars
If you are only doing a few cars a year it will probably be alright. I have a Chicago Electric Impact gun and angle grinder. For the few times a year I use them they are fine. If I was using them daily they'd of been broke by now. I also have a CE corded drill that is a pile of garbage. Gets super hot and smokes sometimes.
Yes, If you you are only doing a few cars, then I would go for it until you get more cars to detail. I sold my Dewalt, since I never used a rotary. I did pick up a HF rotary, and it does the job.
I wouldnt get it if you plan on doing any serious compounding. It doesnt hold rpm's well and the motor will probably burn up soon enough.
