I need a few things to step up my detailing game, what i dont get from CG's i was planning on getting locally (M105, M205 and some Duragloss products). Im also planning on getting a PC7424 from ebay. A few people on there have them new in box for $115 + shipping.

MicroFiber Rejuvenator Microfiber Cleaning Detergent Concentrate (16 oz )

GRIT GUARD-CLEAN WATER IN YOUR BUCKET X 2

EXTRA THICK PREMIUM 3 inch. thick CAR WASH PAD

CLAY BAR (LIGHT) -A HUGE 209g ELASTIC POLY CLAY BAR & 16oz LUBER LUBRICANT DETAIL SPRAY (VALUE PACK)

Sticky Gel Wheel & Rim Cleaner-CITRUS Based HYPER GEL WHEEL CLEANER (16 oz)

HYBRID V7- Optical Select-High Gloss Spray Sealant & Detailer (16oz)

PAD*CLEANER-Foam & Wool Pad Cleaner -CITRUS BASED BLUE- GET IT CLEAN FAST (16 oz)

16oz- COMBO LEATHER CLEANER & CONDITIONER -COMPLETE LEATHER CARE KIT (2- 16oz)

Im more confused now on what i should get as far as MF's go. I have some here, but im going to be demoting them to engine/rim/door jamb duty when i get some new, higher quality ones. There are just so many choices!

Does this list look alright? Im not trying to start a collection here, just get what i need and nothing more. For the time being im only doing my cars (3, all leather) and my parents cars occasionally (1 leather, 1 cloth).

    I already have:
    Megs APC
    Megs goldclass Shampoo
    Folex
    Tire/engine brush
    Upholstery brush
    Aerosol window cleaner
    3 gallon shop vac (portable)
    6 gallon shop vac

The MF's from the CG site are great. Pretty much all I use.

    Alright i added these:

ULTRA FINE 100% MICROFIBER TOWELS YELLOW 15"x15" (1 Dozen) <-----For exterior

MIRACLE DRYER ABSORBER 25" x36" ELITE DELUXE SUPER PREMIUM MICROFIBER/MICROFIBER-BANDED 8.75mm THICK TOWEL <-------For drying

    SUPER QUALITY MICRO-COTTON MICROFIBERS Ultra Plush Detailing Towels - 16" x 16" BUFFING MICROFIBER TOWEL (1pkg) X 2 <-------For interior

    ELITE MICROFIBER SUPER-PLUSH SUPER PREMIUM TOWELS MICRO-BANDED 8.75mm THICK TOWEL 16" x16" (3 PACK) <---------For glass

Is the pad cleaner necessary, or can i use APC & water and get the same results?

Those are all great choices. But I think you should change up what to use them for. The Elites/Super Quality Micro-Cotton are all great for exterior. You could prob use the Ultra Fine MFs for interior/glass/wheels etc.

The pad cleaner is not that necessary and ya I would use simple APC/water dilution.

I use the following for exterior:
SASQUATCH MAXIMUS HAIR RAISING MAXIMUM STASH MICROFIBERS *(1 Pack)

microfiber, microfiber towels, car care products, auto detailing, house cleaning, micro-restore, micro restore, df towels, microfiber

SHAGGY FUR-BALL BLUE MICROFIBER TOWEL LONG NAP 16 x16 DETAILING MICROFIBER TOWEL (3 Pack)

Good stuff right there! You should pick up some blacklight if you do not already have it, maybe some Pro Detailer. Love the citrus wheel gel, its a very good product.

Im limited on budget for this right now, so would you say Pro Detailer > Hybrid V7?

depends...... V7 is a sealant of sorts, and works fine, but its an expensive QD IMO unless you are using it in conjunction with V7. Pro is just a nice alternative to a typical synthetic QD. is this for your personal car?

Yes, 2 DD's and 1 cruiser (profile pic). Thanks!

I dropped the citrus wheel cleaner in favor of zep degreaser. For the price ill give it a shot.

Also removed the MF cleaner, since it looks like hypoallergenic soaps work just fine.

I have the MF cleaner and it works very well, never tried the other. Zeps is ok, if the wheel is slightly dirty, I use it and OPT pc, as well as Megs APC on wheels. works fine....

I just got done working over my wifes wheels (09 Journey). It was the first time they were touched since last fall. The Zep worked as well as off the shelf "rim/wheel cleaner" in my limited experience, but there looks to be some brake pad corrosion or road grime thats going to take some real work...but thats another thread.

    I picked up:

    Mother clay kit
24 MF's for $10 from home depot for door jambs & wheels/household stuff
    Zep Degreaser (orange stuff)

So i can cross that off my list. I wanted to get out there tonight and wash/clay my Grand...but i can see my breath already and its getting dark quick :(

how did you like the mother clay?

    luke093 Welcome to Detailing

In my experience with Mothers clay, its perfectly adequate for a lightly contaminated car. Left 0! marring compared to Ricardo shockingly (but the clearcoat is to blame here)

mothers clay is quite nice to use and quite light but it does stick to your fingers and stuff sometimes

+1 Mother's clay is very nice but I def prefer Sonus over others.

Have not had a chance to try it yet. Also this will be my first time claying anything, so i wont be able to give feedback on how it is compared to other clays.

^^^ This is what i have heard a few times, so i thought id give it a shot and save the shipping charges,

I got my kit from detailersdomain, the uber pads IMO are better then the hexlogic.

    http://detailersdomain.com/carcareproducts/intermediatekits/PC7424XPBaseKit.html

price is better two if you consider it does not come with the cleaners etc, also phil backs his products, good luck trying to get anything from CG, other then a busy signal. They are ok once you know what works and do not need any help, but Id buy a PC from phil, in fact that was my first thing I ever bought from him.

As for polishes, I prefer menzerna, a little more pricey but easier to work with, I dont care about dusting becuase Ill wipe down or wash the car anyway.....
Not sure what your budget is, but this is a good kit too.
