I have recently been considering switching completely over to using ONLY Chemical Guys products as I am VERY pleased with everything I have used so far, live so close to their factory/store and figured I may be able to get something set up with them, IDK. Anyways...my only real concern as I am familiar with basically the entire rest of their lineup is their leather care products. I have NEVER seen anyone use, recommend or review either. Does anyone have experience with these? TYIA!
I have the leather cleaner and the leather protectant, and I really like it. Especially the cleaner, its very effective in cleaning and much more gentle then APC. It was given to me as a gift, i was hesitant about it at first as I have been using Zaino leather in a bottle for the last 8 years. I also have been using either simple green or Zeps 5:1.... I find with APC it sometimes leaves a slight residue, The chemical Guys wipes clean. The leather protectant smells really good, smells like leather, and absorbs very nicely into the seats, or what not. I would recommend it, its also very reasonable price wise. hope that helps
I have been using their leather conditioner for a while now. I had 2 sets of leather cleaner and conditioner. I ran out of the cleaner so i use a apc now but the conditioner is great and smells excellent too!
I just ordered the CG non sense all purpose cleaner and the leather conditioner, they seem promising. I'll be sure to post results
I bought the CG Leather Cleaner/Conditioner combo and have used it once. It was my first time strictly using a product designed for leather but it does smell good and is very inexpensive. I'd like to try a few others like Leather Master's line to compare but for now, this will work.
I've used both the cleaner and conditioner and they work as advertised. The conditioner does actually smell like brand new leather and its not overpowering either. Would say it lasted about a few days in my car and I barely applied any. Good products overall can't beat that price and the cleaners dilution ratio
You are going to love nonsense...its one of my favorite interior cleaners.. Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk 2
hahaI hope so, just watched the new CG non sense video with the beat up BMW! looks real useful haha. Do you use it with a dilution or at full strength? (to wipe down interior and clean leather seats)
Thanks, all! I understand where you are coming from, it is just that I live MINUTES from them, I love EVERY product I have used so far in terms of performance and cost. So I was just thinking how nice it would be to be able to drive to a store, pick up anything I need, get a good price, etc etc.
i live pretty close to a cg store and the same applies for me. In all honesty they have some products that work great. Their marketing is not that great with all the redundancy but if you find the right products for the right needs then you're good. Also their price is just so fair
I agree, the store local to me is pretty nice and well laid out but their website is a NIGHTMARE! I just kind of regret ever going into the store as it was so east to just not buy a bunch of products when it was online, but when I walk in and see everything there, I just want it ALL!!! Especially because they always have such great deals!!! And many of their products I just do not see a need for, they have SO MANY soaps and dressings and polishes!!!
Okay, well I finally tried the CG nonsense APC and the leather conditioner. Maybe I was hoping for too much but I diluted the APC like it told me to 1:20, which I found to be ineffective for scrubbing leather it might be just me but it felt like I was literally just scrubbing with water; no bubbles/foaming, when I wiped the area there was not a lot of difference from before I scrubbed. I used a different cleaner and scrubbed it, it foamed and as I worked it in with a brush I could visibly see dirt, etc coming off and on to my brush and towel when I wiped off. Maybe I'll try a stronger dilution next time... What diluted do you guys use for leather cleaning? It's alright for a wipe down for the interior, but then again I keep my interior pretty clean. The leather conditioner left my seats a little too shiny for my liking as well... I tried two methods on two different seats. First one was apply the conditioner, let it sit till it dries and wiped off (it didnt really buff off... left it shiny) and the second one was I applied the conditioner and buffed off right away, still leaving it shiny but a little less than the other seat.
I bought the leather combo a while ago. The cleaner works excellent, gentle yet effective. Haven't used the conditioner though, I'm always afraid of it leaving the seats shiny and slippery. I'm also not a fan of the smell. Yes it smells good, but it smells like raw leather material, like some nice leather boots or jacket, not automotive leather. But that's just me.
You nailed the conditioner smell spot on. I wasn't expecting it and its an ok smell I guess. Not the car smell I was hoping for though. I've used the conditioner a few times and its never left a shiny residue behind. I don't use alot of product either and buff off right after.
It's what I use, great stuff. I was using other cleaners and had a bottle just sitting there I got for free. I ran out of my usual stuff in the middle of a detail and decided to use it. Blew the other two products away, went back and cleaned what I already did and picked up more dirt. Got online that day and ordered a gallon of it. I've only used the conditioner once, good stuff, but I'm not really sure if conditioners really do anything... Especially after reading TOGWT articles, lol.
