Note, this is a informal review, and more my opinions of the two products. Ok, I was pretty impressed with Domino's results of the VRP on his GT-R, so I got some to tryout.. pictures are hard to judge sometimes. Currently my go to Tire and interior dressing is Prima Nero which I have been very happy with, the durability on the tires has been very good. Three weeks, three washes and it was still going strong. Prima Nero is very to apply, spray on the applicator or directly on the area you wish to dress and wipe down and let sit for about 15 minutes then buff out. Leaves a very nice matte finnish with just enough shine. My initial impressions of VRP its like a lotion which was nice, spread on pretty evenly with a yellow Uber pad. The product soaked up into my 6 month old Brigdestone RE-11s very nicely; not much streaking but was a tad more glossy then I prefer. What was nice was that it was dry to the touch fairly quickly, that is a plus; I did run a MF towel around it to wipe off some excess. I will wait a day and see what it looks like and re evaluate if I plan on keeping it. Usually I am very happy with CG products, this one Im still on the fence about.
Thanks for the review Kilo. My brakes dust so much, that although I prefer a matte look initially, after a drive the gloss gets knocked down a notch. subscribed for longer term results.
OK, I actually opened my garage door and pulled the car out. It actually looks very nice. More of a gloss then Prima Nero, But it seems to be a little darker. Also there was no streaking as I have found some minor streaking with Prima Nero. To be noted, I apply both to a uber yellow applicator then apply. Mind you I cleaned the tires with OPT PC full strength and tires were stripped completley so there was no layering. Im going to give it a week and a wash cycle and reserve final judgement. Also cost wise, prima Nero costs 4x as much, but it is in liquid form versus VRP which is in gel or creme form. I won't judge the cost becuase its hard to compare the two products on that aspect alone. As for the Opt PC, i was very impressed with its cleaning abilities. Verus Megs APC in full stength.
Nice review/test. I love Prima Nero and I use on the interior and tires on my own vehicles. I am a big CG fan, but I really don't like tire gels, I much prefer being able to spray on the protection. I have recently started trying out DP Tire Gel cut 1:1 with water. It sprays on nicely and gives a dark, but kind of shiny look. From the sound of things you wouldn't like it, but I use it on customer cars since you can't beat the price. Thanks again for you review!
