Hello everybody, So I've gone ahead and ordered some of this stuff to use as a waterless wash. Am I correct in saying it will not interfere with the Collinite 476 that I am going to apply to my vehicle? But my question is, it says to dilute 3:1 if using as a waterless wash. Does that mean 3 parts product, 1 part water, or vice versa? And can it be mixed at any time, or should it only be mixed when being used? Cheers.
I've only used CG Speed Wipe as a QD... interesting that you can also use it as a waterless wash. Dilution ratios are (with rare exception) almost always water as the larger percentage... so it'd be three parts water, 1 part product.
So the guy from chem guys Australia called me today and while I had him on the phone, I asked him about this. He didn't sound very sure at all (he said he uses it straight undiluted as a waterless wash), but said it should be 3 parts product to 1 part water. I'd be inclined to believe him if he didn't sound so uncertain. Does anyone with certainty what the correct ratio is? I bought it in a gallon so it would still be quite economical to use undiluted, but will it still clean effectively?
I agree with J BELL...3 parts Water /1 part product...:thumb: Edit: If you go on the CG web site it says to dillute it 3 parts water/1 part product. This might help you out and make you feel a little better about the situation.
I've never used the product, but I do wonder, why dilute a QD to make it a waterless wash? Wouldn't you WANT more lubricity? Or is this stuff in concentrated form like OID?
To be honest here, I wouldnt use it for this. I use it 2:1 for a QD and while it does add quite a bit of slickness i wouldnt be comfortable using it as a waterless wash. But i may be being ridiculous about it and it would be fine...just MHO
Hey, it says "can be diluted 3:1 with distilled H20 if desire", it dosen't specifically say 3 parts water, unless I'm not reading it well enough. Should I just use it undiluted? It's failry economical still, seeing as a bought it a gallon of it, or does the water play its part in disolving dirt or something?
Sure you can use full strengh. You just might find that it may be just right or you might find it my be a little to Thick as in a clay lube and a QD. I would use it how I like it and if I needed to dillute I would and like you it wouldn't matter because it's cheap enough. You may have to answer you own question after you try it and if you wanted to dilute it I would try a small amout first to see. It all comes down to personal prefference now. Go for it and let us know what you came up with. Don't worry you're not going to hurt a thing...Good luck.
Well I started out wih 1:1, it worked fairly well. Most dirt came off easily, some needed a little bit of scrubbing, and it left a very slick finish. Next I'll be trying 2:1 (2 parts water). I suspect it has a static charge however, as I used it on my windscreen undiluted as a clay lube, the next day I found fluffy stuff clinging to my windscreen. It says however the exact opposite on the product description, so it may be due to the fact that I used a MF cloth to wipe the windscreen after claying. As far as cleaning goes, the Poor Boy's waterless wash I used before that was better (probably best I've used), but dosen't leave the surface slick, like the diluted QD does.
