    Hello everyone,

In all my time of car-detailing I've mainly only picked up products from detailersdomain, adam's, and autogeek, I've never tried Chemical Guys and I wanna give them a shot.

I primarily need new towels, maintenance shampoo, microfiber detergent, bottles, and QD

I'm planning on ordering Micro-restore after reading positive reviews, and I'm planning on ordering some bottles from US Plastics, if anyone has any other bottle suggestions that'd be great.

For maintenance shampoo I want to try Glossworkz, I've read some good reviews,

    Now for the tricky part,
    For towels, which ones?
Drying: right now i have the showroom fx one and it rocks, but I want to try one that isn't waffle weave, so woolly Mammoth Super thick best dryer car care
    or
    MICROFIBER DRYER TOWEL

    Wax removal, QD, etc

Which QD/spray wax from CG, I usually use Adam's detail spray or Prima hydro, but I want to try another, if anyone can recommend one that'd be great as well.

For clay lube I've determined ONR to be superior and incessantly cost efficient.

Right now I have a Daytona speed brush, but this looks interesting
Gerbil Sheepskin Wheel & RIM brush

Also has anyone tried CG Bare Bones in relation to Adam's Undercarriage Spray? I love the Adam's one, and CG is the same price: UNDERCARRIAGE SPRAY

Also I was thinking this would be helpful for door jambs, I know Zaino has a similar product. Usually I just use a QD on the door jambs
POLISH + SHINE + SEALANT in one.

Any other "must have" products would be greatly appreciated :worship2:

    Thanks,

    Tony

I have heard nothing but good things regarding Bare Bones. Never tried it personally but know of a ton of people locally that love it. It's on my list to try for sure.

As for towels check out Pakshak. Their Microfiber Towels are superior in quality. I have had some of my towels from them for nearly 2 years and they function as well as new. They also carry the microfiber restore to keep them looking good.

I personally use the Daytona Wheel Brush as well.

CG Speed Wipe i have also heard was a very good product. I currently am using FK425 as a QD and that stuff is simply amazing but i know you're trying to check out the CG line so give the Speed Wipe a shot.

Thanks, I've checked out Pakshak, they're just mega expensive, but you pay for quality. Also I'll try some FK425, thanks :thumb:

^+1 Also get the monster microfibers are great. I have used both the the CG synthetic quick detailer and the CG Pro detailer. The Pro detailer is alot better it does not have a plasticy look like synthetic qd does it leaves a warm wet look. It is my favorite QD and I have tried several. I have a gallon of Optimum's QD coming in from Phil got a great deal for it, I cant wait to try it out. Cool thing about it is that 1 gallon makes 4 gallons since it a concentrate.

    I am very familar with a number of the CG products and have used and reccomend the following from your list;

Drying Towel - CG Miracle Dryer, this is the same towel as the CG Monster but larger and yellow instead of blue. Excellent towel and I would reccomend that you have at least two.

QD/Wax Removal Towel - CG Monster, fantastic, silk banded edges, thick yet not to thick for QD

Wax Removal - CG Sasquatch, not good for QD as it is very fluffy but great for wax removal.

QD - CG Speed Shine is a very good QD. Clear Seal is the best CG QD IMO, it is designed for clear bras but works for all exterior surfaces and contains a UV protectant. Expensive but very good.

Clay Lube - CG Luber is very good

MF Wash - Micro-Restore or CG Microfiber Wash both are great

Wheel Brush, stick with the Daytona

Undercarriage Dressing - CG Bare Bones is excellent

Door Jamb QD - I like the Poorboy's Spray and Wipe waterless car wash for this purpose, can't think of a CG product other than Speed Wipe for this.

Car Wash Maintenance - CG Citrus Wash & Gloss Clear is a great maintenance wash from CG if you are looking for cost effective and something that is concentrated.

Car Wash Wax Remover - CG Citrus Wash & Gloss (the yellow one)

All these products are really good and have a great price point. Of course there are better products out there but you were asking about the CG line and none of these IMO are disappoinment products. I use and sell all of the above.

Thanks for your insight! Have you used the wooly mammoth dryer towel? Seems interesting, on sale too. Also how is CG glossworkz compared to Citrus wash and gloss for a maintenance soap?

Definitely gonna be ordering stuff soon, also if you have any other products you specifically like, please do tell, thanks :thumb:

Glossworkz is a good maintenance soap a little goes a long way. The slickness is good but the suggested 1oz to 4-5 gallons its ok, but it excels if you use it at 3 gallons. I have been using it exclusively on my two black vehicles for several months now since I have a gallon of it and I do like it. Its a great wash and is LSP safe it keeps my x2 coats of Blackfire Wet Diamond secure. But I here Majestic Solutions Ultra Gloss is better in overall gloss and slickness and not only that its cheaper per gallon. I have a sample JL sent me that I am going to try out tomorrow so I will let you know what I think of it. CG WG is mainly use for stripping LSPs and is really too concentrated IMO to use as a maintenance wash even at the suggested safe dilution.

Meh, Glossworkz was all hype. Not very slick, looks nice tho, and pretty concentrated, but it just doesnt feel safe or right. I just add an ounce into every wash I do to amp the gloss up. But after the new year its 1 gallon of MS UG- Best car wash shampoo I used! And I've tried many...

    Meguiars Car Wash

I have not used either of those products yet so sorry cannot comment on them.

    Other great products off the top of my head;

    - Wheel cleaner - Sonax Full Effect or P21S Wheel Gel

    - Wheel Dressing semi-gloss finish - Swissvax Pheu, Poorboys Bold & Bright

    - Glass Polish - Autoglym Glass Polish

    - Engine cleaner - P21S Total Auto Wash, great cleaner for wheel wells, floor mats as well

    - Interior detailer for matt finish - Einszett Cockpit Premium, Sonax Dashboard Cleaner

    - Chrome cleaner polish(exhaust tips) - P21S Polishing Soap and P21S Finish Restorer

    - Wheel Wax - Swissvax Autobahn, Poorboys Wheel Sealant

    - Brushes for detailing - Swissvax wheel and interior brush, RaceGlaze Brushes

    - Trim dressings - Poorboy's Trim Restore, Sonus Tire and Bumper Dressing

That's about all I can think of, if you need any other suggestions just let us know.

Most people like the CR320 (grey chemical resistant sprayers by tolco) sold by us plastics. CG also carries them so maybe you can just order from them.

Glossworkz isn't very sudsy, and it seems to be really expensive. For some reason CG charges more than some other retail sites. I like to add it in with other soaps. Maxi-suds /citrus gloss/citrus clear are all really good soaps. Just be careful with the dilutions for the citrus soaps if you want to use it as maintenance.

The CG super towels (yellow with black silk) are a favourite and you can get a good price for them. I'm curious about the other towels you listed as well, the fluffer miracles and ELITE MICROFIBER SUPER-PLUSH. Anyone use them before?

I've never tried CG qds/spray wax but that is because I like using the same brand of qds for the sealants I am applying. If you can I would stick with the same line also.

I think the Daytona is better than any of the options on CG. I've never really read much about them. If your looking for something new in the future, raceglaze wheel brush carried by ken (autowerkesexclusive) or autoobsessed is good. In my opinion, the best wheel brush would be a hybrid of the two, a strong stem, and bristles sized inbetween the two brushes. Hopefully some manufacturer is reading this?

I also use QD wipes for jambs, and if its dirty then I will first go with some spray and wipe cleaners (opti-clean, poorboys spray and wipe). ONR would work well and you seem to already have that. I also use some AIO twice a year on them, ZAIO is what I use since it has great durability.

My favourite products from CG are definitely the soaps and the super towels. I also like CGs microfiber detergent, it rinses out very easily.

I defiantly cant wait to try MS UG out tomorrow. But your right CG Glossworkz was made out to be more that it really is. Yet, I do like it at 1 oz for 3 gallons. I also use 1 oz to 32 oz n my foam gun set to the max dilution to foam it down. Even though it doesn't foam up crazy it does help break down the dust and dirt on the vehicle. Mine vehicles are not extremely dirty so I guess that why I like it still.
