anyone use this? im wondering how it works on non polished and waxed cars? will the water still come off better than towel drying? is it as powerful as they say it is? looks like a great value. JetSpeed Dryer
I have not had the greatest luck with blow drying cars dry. It works for the cracks and all those things, but my leafblower left me being disappointed. Not sure how different Paul's machine is...
I've never tried the CG unit but I think I will be purchasing the Power Dry Air Wand from Patrick at Excel. It attaches to any 2.5" hose for leaf blowers or wet/dry vacuums. Here's a short video demonstration of it in action. Pictures of the unit can be seen here.
Also, you have to make sure that your vehicles are properly beading (aka sealed or waxed) to use these devices.
yup, that was what I was looking for, it its not beading good it wont work, so its much more of a maintenence tool opposed to a speeding up your detailing process for clients
1. CG Unit is very nice and very good for light duty clean ups due to the weight 2. Electric blowers from HD/Lowes are better for real drying 3. Electric is better than Gas because of price, and also gas is said to emit a light film on the car. my .01 cent
I have one very similar to the CG one. It looks identical. Get a leaf blower. The air flow is much better.
you can get a nice leaf blower at wal mart for less than 30.00 and works great..I use one all the time...it gets all the water out of the cracks and mirrors and door handles...and blows the paint dry..what ever is left you just blot with a MF towel.... look in the garden section of wal mart...I paid 26.99 for mine..best tool I bought for washing and drying a car.... AL
My Ridgid was bought for around $30 and you cannot break that thing! I do everything with it, from drying the cars to leaf blowing to vacuuming the house! That thing is like my BROTHER!
Here's a link for one like CG sells for $9.96: ELECTRIC PORTABLE BLOWER - GARDEN - DRIVEWAY | Lawn / Garden This is the same size as a Cycle Dry: Cycle Dry Motorcycle Air Dryer [Cycle Dry] - $39.95 : Mikuni, vance and hines, S&S motors, harley parts, vance & hines, vance&hines, s&s motors, s&s carb, slip on, marten brothers, motorcycle exhausts and more., Mikuni, vance and hines, S&S motors, h I like the Cycle Dry because it's pretty small and compact. I only use it to dry wheels, tires, nooks and crannies. The $10 one is very similar but not made as well as the Cycle Dry, but it's also only 10 bucks. They both have a rubber nozzle (nice for not scratching) and come with an extra set of motor brushes. I would not try to use one of these to dry an entire car, they are just too small.
