Ok so I bought all 3 in 16oz size and decide to clean my sisters car. I have to say, picture are useless unfortunately. I think it is due to the fact that none of the cars at home are ever dirty enough to show the difference between the wheel cleaners. I simply sprayed on and waited 10 minutes with no agitation. I feel many reviews do before and after WITH agitation, but that IMO is pointless because I can use soap and water and the result is the same.

Driver side wheel before rinse or anything:

Driver side wheel with: Sticky Gel on the left / Citrus on the right

and after rinsing off (waited 10 minutes, no agitation, just spray on and rinse):

Passenger side before with: Stick Gel on the left / Diablo on the right:

    and after:

If you're wondering why you can't see the difference between the cleaners, neither can I in the picture OR in person. My conclusion is that they all work equally well as maintenance cleaners, as well as soap/water. But I have to say as im watching the soaps break down the brake dust, the cleaner that worked the fastest was Sticky Gel. It almost immediately took everything off and probably didnt need to leave it on. You can see in the pictures where the sticky gel, the dirt starts to run off immediately. The Diablo felt like it needed to cling on for a few more minutes to do its job while the Citrus wash was just very ordinary. I have to say I will be buying a 128oz of Sticky Gel and will never buy the diablo ever again as its just not good product for its money. I feel like I am missing something so if you guys have questions feel free to ask I'll try to answer them best from my experience.

Please don't ge me wrong, but in order to justify wheel cleaner power abilities you need dirtier wheels...you need more brake dust on them!!!

I just use car wash soap on my wheels... but they get cleaned once a week, and are sealed with either PB wheel sealer, Jetseal, or AJ...

Wheel cleaners are for customer cars...

Same here with finding dirty wheels, our cars get the wheels wiped down with onr soaked rag twice a week.

I'm with you. I don't see much difference myself when I use Diablo or Citrus. Perhaps I'm not using enough product. Mine dries before the ten minutes are up.

just don't wash those wheels, they will build up brake dust...german cars are building up brake dust very quickly, where my previous Acura RL hardly ever need attention on its wheels...

I will let my M3 collect brake dust (M3 dusts like crazy) and try to do another comparison.

Diablo dries up on the rim for me after about 7 minutes.

I can tell you that Sticky Gel is the most powerful of those three, Citrus Wheel & Rim being second, and Diablo being the weakest. Diablo is as safe on wheels as soap and water, but is equally as powerful.

Who cares about cleaning rims anyways...the rims are always easy, it's the wheel barrels that are hard and you didn't do anything to clean them.

Be nice bud. He was just showing how the wheel cleaners work without agitation. I personally really like the CG Wheel Gel. Just got some Diablo in to test tomorrow.

I was just planning on coming home and buying one of the CG wheel cleaners.

My wheels get cleaned twice a day. Once when I get out of school everyday and 2 and once at night when my cars in for the night. I spray some weird mixture of ONR/Water on a tatty rag and wipe down the inside barrels and I QD the outside spoke part w/ 425 and a wheel MF :) I know I'm crazy.

I just find pleasure in buying lots of detailing products lol

Yeah, and he started out by insulting everybody else's wheel cleaner reviews. You get what you do.

this isn't a flaming thread nor is DB a flaming forum. There is no need to get hostile over rim cleaners and procedures and such.

Some rims can be hard to clean both the face and the barrels.

I am a huge fan of CG Sticky Wheel Gel. Works well for me.

Im sorry I did not mean to insult everyone's reviews. I just simply don't understand a review when it includes agitation because the actual agitation can remove grime/dust 100% with or without the wheel cleaner?

I like wheel cleaners like you've said before and I am looking to get the best bang for my tiny bucks, so I was just trying to help. Sorry if I have offended anyone. I only came to made this thread because I did search for a few days numerous threads for a good wheel cleaners and based on reviews, I still could not come to a conclusion. I made this mini-experiment to help come to a conclusion at least between the CG wheel cleaners. Again I apologize if I offended anyone. :sorry:

Thanks for your review on the diablo. I walked into their location the other day and saw it on the shelf so I picked it up. I have yet to try it and was already wondering exactly how well it would work. Will have to give it a test myself but I've been looking for reviews on how others have used it. Thanks for sharing! :thumb:

Fair enough my friend, I apologize if I was too hostile. I see your point and I will try to separate my future wheel cleaner reviews of touch-less vs brushing. I plan on doing reviews on Sonax Xtreme Rim Cleaner Full Effect and Espuma Revolution.
